Winter. Snow. Weekend. Who could resist? The fine packed powder sat undisturbed after the blizzard subsided. Sure it was thick, but that wasn't going to stop Cerri from heading out to the Black Lake. The area was bound to be fresh and her footsteps might be the first ones out there. The idea excited her. The first explorer in the wilderness. It had been months since the elves had made attempts to ruin her bid for the made up throne of her made up country that her not so made up sister ruled over. So taking advantage of the peacefulness of the ceasefire she ran herself out along the winter limbs barren of leaves but covered in white.
As she came closer to the Lake the trail lightened up. Obviously the trees had captured much of the snow and kept it from landing and forming a six foot pack. Instead there was only a small one foot crunching as her snowboots protected her new shoes. Crunching and slushing through the white she finally saw that there were other footsteps ahead of her.
"Oh no. I'm not the first one out here." The moment diffused her eagerness as she let out a small sigh. Well, no single other person was going to ruin her fun. She was going to head out and continue anyway, regardless of who it was out here.
As she walked closer to the lake she could finally see the frozen ice peeking through the tree limbs. It looked so smooth. The ice looked ready to be disturbed. Her face lit up, she was ready to be the one to do it.

Regis saw a girl from Ravenclaw approaching the lake, but for a purpose unknown to him. He was feeling particularly adventurous and so he packed a snowball in his hand and began to creep up behind her. Perhaps she wasn't the kind of person that would like to be attacked by a snowball, but Regis ignored his conscience once again.
He noticed that this girl appeared determined, determined to do something. He made a mental note to watch this girl to see what she did in the future. However, in the present, he began to creep behind her, unable to stop the crunching sound of snow his feet made.

Alistair was very rarely disappointed with the world – generally he found a way to turn any unpleasant situation into something comical. But this certainly was not comical. This was downright a devastation set by the Fates sent to torment him. The small boy was staring with a scowl at a few branches of a nearby tree that had far too much snow. He could attempt to climb them, as he had intended when he first came out of the castle, but by then he would be coated in snow and not want to spend any more time out there.
Crunch… crunch… crunch
The huffle had been more or less ignoring all of the noises around him while he had been heading directly toward the tree but he was now ready to turn around, his mood quite dampened. He turned about and noticed a slightly smaller boy holding some ammunition; the crunching sound must have come from him. Certainly one snowball fight wasn’t enough per winter season, so Alistair bent down and scooped up some snow.
“Mind if I join you?” Alistair said quietly as he caught up to the boy. He wasn’t all too sure who the intended target was, but this certainly made up for his favourite climbing tree being occupied by a foot of powder.

Excitement filled the young Ravenclaw as she wrestled with the snow slowing her feet. Snow was great in the winter, but she was certainly glad winter only came once a year. Surely a few months of winter couldn't possibly drag down the rest of the year for the girl. She made enough noise on on her own that she couldn't possibly hear the other two off to the side. The girl was oblivious, consumed with thoughts of the iced over lake and the new fun that could be had.
Each step brought her closer, until such as a perfect shot was lined up. The unaware Ravenclaw kept walking with a bit of a hum in her step. She was all but bouncing along.
Crunch, cruunchcrunch.
As she took that last step she saw a bough of mistletoe higher than her head in the tree. A ball of leaves and berries...and it as huge. It must have been living in the boughs for years without anyone cutting it down. What a find. Now if she only had something to knock it down with. Looking around she turned from side to side....

Regis looked over at the Hufflepuff student that had just requested to join him. Regis was a bit intimidated, the other student was older and bigger, but a chance to share the guilt of a snowball pelted girl was too much to pass up. "Sure!" Regis said. "But be quiet. I want this to be good. She won't know what hit her!"
Regis began to creep closer and closer, trying desperatley to keep his feet silent, but he could not. Crunch, crunch, crunch, all at the same volume. He began to feel certain she'd hear him. Finally, he lined up the perfect shot, drew back his arm, and threw the snowball.

Students all around the young Ravenclaw named Hermandy Alpha were talking and throwing snowballs with their friends. Hermandy would be doing the same, that is if she had friends. Her only friends were two boys and a girl who saved her from falling into a huge trough full of water in Diagon Alley in August. She has been writing to the three ever since. As she looked around the snowy grounds, she saw two boys throwing a snowball at a girl. Excitement filled her. The boys and girl looked familiar. Were these young students the friends she has been writing to?
Hermandy ran across the grounds to the three students, trying not to make too much noise. She failed at the attempt. crunch crunch crunch She hid behind the tree closest to them to get a peek at the three. What if they weren't people she thought they were? That would be a bit embarrassing. She leaned a little bit outside of the tree's covering and plummeted into the snowy grounds...right into the three students.
((I hope everyone knows that the three students aren't the ones she thought they were, right?))

(aww....how cute. Just a note from a friendly voice, do your best not to double post. There's an edit button that you can add to your original post. There I did it and it didn't come from the mean mean Admins.

The poor girl. Cerri didn't even expect anything like this to happen. What came seeking her direction was a cold and frozen ball of ice. The little Ravenclaw would be shocked and surprised. The snow cloak she wore did hide her considerably from the word around her.
Seeing the mistletoe, she reached, stretching as far as she could that her 12 year old arms could go. She couldn't reach it. Still intent she prepared herself for a jump in the air, though with all the clothes she wore to protect her from the cold, it weighed her down considerably. Her arms, wound up her jumping potential. As she let it all go, Cerri felt her feet leave the ground for a split second.
Ca-runch!
No success! The girl landed back in snow making a great noise all on her own without so much as a leave to show for her efforts. Then there was another noise, someone else was around. She turned rather quickly, just in time to get a snowball to the chest. The shock was enormous to her. It wasn't that she was hit with a ball of ice and snow. That had happened numberous times before. What caused such a ruckus with the girl was that a small chunk of snow had found the one gap in her clothes and nestled deep within her outerwer. It was cold and all ready figuring out the best way to melt and wet her clothing. She gasped quite severely.
"Ah, oh that's so cold!" She shouted before beginning a wild dance to free the snow melt from her skin. The dance looked quite simular to a horn swaggle mating ritual.
"Oh that was horrible." She said before looking at who was standing in the direction the snowball came from. Alistair stood right there as well as some other Firstyear she hadn't really spent much time with. It was so hard to stay mad at her friend, but Cerri would certainly try really really hard before falling over laughing. Of course the laughter would come much later.

If Alistair were at all the introverted sort, he never would have agreed to tossing a snowball at a random person just because a younger student was about to – that sort of thing would get you into trouble with professors. But it was only water and probably wouldn’t do too much harm. With any luck the girl would be in good spirits. “I’m Alistair by the way.” But whether or not the Gryffindor heard him was a mystery. In that moment his companion threw his snowball, something hard collided with Alistair making him drop his own, and then he noticed that their target was in fact his very best friend. How had he not recognized her, even from the back?
Thankfully Alistair was well aware that Cerri had a wonderful sense of humor and the fact that she had just been jumping for something high up above her and even though she had taken the brunt of the younger boy’s projectile, she still seemed to be in a good mood. “Sorry Cerri, I didn’t realize it was you there.” More concerning at the moment was the unknown body who he had just made contact with. He wasn’t sure whether to be upset or not. It may not have been an intentional collision, but it had certainly felt that way.
“Where’s the fire?” Alistair asked the younger girl. He noticed she was in Ravenclaw; perhaps she was a friend of Cerri’s and had been trying to rush over to her. This all felt rather awkward now as Alistair noticed that the only person he knew in this small circle of people was the one he was about to attack. “What were you after?” He asked, looking back to Cerri and the tree branches above her. Perhaps if he didn’t make any mention of the oddness of the situation, no one else would notice.
