We can already do that, I've added a new step in the registration process, so if all has gone well, no new spambot should have signed up since I enabled it... I haven't checked yet.. *flees to ACP to check* unless Ellie hid all the evidence, I think it worked? They might still be hogging resources though because they hog the site >.<

I think we need a ruling of what we ought to do if a character/person goes MIA/AWOL such as Luka Chancery or a number of the older students? Do we pretend that they don't exist, do they just fade into the background but we're no longer allowed to mention them directly or...?

you can still talk about them and stuff, just don't do it in a way that suggests they'll coming walking over to you in the next post or anything. nothing like 'i saw him the other day, he was blah blah blah'. i mean, like, don't godmode them or anything.
i have a question as well. are we allowed to name the characters we make up in our posts? like, if i say 'adele was talking to a guy at her table', can i name him?

Fair enough, but I guess when you think about it; it's not unreasonable to not see the same students you always saw. I mean Harry didn't know all of the students in his year, I mean Susan Bones, Zacharias Smith, Michael Corner, Anthony Goldstein and Terry Boot were not mentioned until Harry's fifth year.
Anyway, I don't see a problem with naming npc characters; if anything we could all make up a list of names of older NPC students with the staff's guidance and than have those names categorized based on year, gender and house membership. I mean, just a thought.

Naming Npcs is perfectly fine, and if you guys would like to make a master list like Alexander suggested, it might be useful to others. Just remember that npcs are there to enhance posts. Alistair, for example, has an npc dance partner during the dance club meeting because its a difficult thing to dance with another person, especially if they dont show up to the lesson. However, its not impossible, and if we have a ball or he wants to practice with someone like Allison, he can. Basically, don't Dont have Npc friends.

I reckon master list is perfect.
Some names I can throw out off the top of my head:
Male
Anthony Snodgrass
Matthew Stapleton
Richard Barwick
Henry Bygrave
Michael Harper
Emlyn Hayes
Kieron Micklewight
Callum Blackmore
Robert Fowler
Aiden Boothroyd
Aneurin Rhys Jones
Desmond Branagh
Kenneth Fitzgerald
Female
Abigail Sheringham
Bryony Etherington
Helen McAllister
Autumn Monteith
Allison Caulfield
Rhiannon Ifans
Audrey Harrington
Rebecca Pritchard
Polly Tallis
Isabel Gradwell
Pauline Barwick
Prudence O'Keefe
Josephine Plummer
Of course, you can ignore whichever ones you don't care for. I used mostly English and Scottish last names, although theirs a handful of Welsh names there. Didn't use too many Irish ones, but I didn't want the list to be ridiculously long. Anyway, switch them up; I didn't really go for which sounded better with which last name. It was mostly just a quick jumble.
