Conflict and hardship: Cecile’s largest conflict is being who she’s supposed to be. She doesn’t want to follow the rules and she certainly doesn’t want to be the lady she’s expected to be. When she was younger she was more or less allowed to play with the boys (which she did) and as she got older she resisted all attempts to make her more ladylike and proper. Of course she’s also Catholic and formerly French which in Protestant England can be a trial, but Cile considers herself firmly English.
Motivation, Passion and Drive: She wants to learn magic and she wants to learn to fly like her sister talks about. She likes to be the best at everything she does. Her goal is to be able to find something to do with herself that does not involve being ladylike.
Motto or catchphrase: If everyone was worried about being proper and breaking the rules nothing would ever be discovered.
Rules are for people with no imagination.
Overall personality:
Cecile is quite a mish-mash of traits all of which are thoroughly inappropriate for a girl in her time and station. She doesn’t like to be proper and she doesn’t want to be ladylike. Cecile is a bit of tomboy for her time, she likes to wear pants and she frequently steals them from her brother. She’s even put her hair up and masqueraded as a boy in London and if she was found out doubtless she would be in deep trouble. She loves to ride horses, swim, and generally run around. She hates to be stuck inside.
Cecile is headstrong and she always wants to get her way. She doesn’t pout when she doesn’t though, she tries to figure out what went wrong and fix it. She likes to take control of a situation and is a born leader which leads to bossiness which some people find annoying. Cecile doesn’t think before she acts and she has a vengeful streak. Wrong her and she will do her best to punish you.
Normally though, she’s very happy. Cecile has a bright outlook on things (except lessons in ladylike behavior). She’ll fight tooth and nail for what she thinks is right and for her friends, but she expects the same from them. She puts a lot of stock in honor, in herself and everyone else. She doesn’t like liars and is terrible at hiding anything from anyone, even her enemies. She likes to talk, loudly and often, not lady like at all. She’s more comfortable around boys than girls, unless the girls aren’t prissy. She can’t stand girls who make a big deal over things like dirt and manners and while she isn’t rude, she isn’t exactly polite.
She firmly believes that rules are often suggestions. She is never bad enough, or never gets caught at it, to be in serious trouble, but she ignores the line that most people know they should toe. Cecile hates drama and sadness and doesn't deal well with it. When it comes to something she’s interested in she works very hard. She does work at things she doesn’t like, but she might push it off to do what she’d rather. At any rate she does try. She doesn’t like to lose and will do everything she can not to.
Once she decides to do something, by hook or by crook she’ll find a way to get it done. Perhaps it will be in an unconventional way, but she will reach her goal. While in pursuit she jumps in headfirst and is capable of single minded determination when she wants. She wants to do something exciting and sees Hogwarts as an opportunity. She can escape a boring life and find something to do in a world where girls are equal or at least, closer to it, to boys. Cecile tries to make the most out of chances she’s given or she tries to create her own. She’s a dreamer, but she works to make them come true. She certainly has plans for what she’ll do when she gets to Hogwarts.
Diary Entry:
Not a good day today. Since it’s summer we do not have lessons with tutors, but Mother has been trying to school Genevieve, Anne, and me in what I call lady lessons. I would much rather be outside playing or riding, but she doesn’t feel the same way. Since I haven’t been practicing my calligraphy or working on my sampler I’m confined to the house for who knows how long! Since Mama didn’t say it’s probably a long time. Anne smirks and says I get what I deserve and Jacques ignores me as always. Pierre and Genevieve care though, Pierre comes to see why I am upset and why I can not take him riding or swimming in the creek and Genevieve is sympathetic enough to teach me spells, even if she doesn’t let me practice them for real. She says she doesn’t want to clean up the mess when I blow something up and that she might get in trouble for it.
I can not wait to go to Hogwarts. There will be no one to tell me I’m not behaving properly and no one to yell if I wear breeches. I am taking a pair of Jacques’; he is not good for much else although luckily he isn’t too much bigger than I am. I’ll even be able to go to flying lessons! Maybe in a year or two play Qudditch like Genevieve has told me about.
I do worry about which house I will be sorted into. I would like to be in Gryffindor, because it sounds like where heroes come from. Hufflepuff wouldn’t be bad either, but Slytherin and Ravenclaw sound horrible! Even if Viv claims that not all Slytherins are bad. Mama is coming-and if she sees I haven’t worked at all I’ll be in trouble.
The Appearance
First Impression: Likely Cecile is not acting as she should be, on first impression she would be a ball of energy ready to start running around. If she is being forced to sit still doubtless she’s fidgeting if she’s in motion she’s probably happy although anyone could see she’s uncomfortable in her skirts.
On Second thought..: If one looked closer doubtless they would still come to the same conclusion. Cecile doesn’t hide much.
Overall Appearance: Cecile is small for her age, in build and height. She has light blond hair which is long, although as soon as she gets to Hogwarts she plans on cutting it short, shoulder length. Her eyes are light green and look too big for her face. She rarely tans, although she would like to, in her opinion her light complexion is too fashionable. Cile’s face is dusted with freckles that almost make up for it.

Other important figures:

Reputation: The Bloch family is one of (if not the) richest merchant families in the city. Some people dislike them for that, others look to them for help. They are treated with some suspicion, especially now, for being both Catholic and French.
Secrets: None really, except for the magic in the family.
General:
Cecile has had a very easy childhood, really nothing to complain about. She’s been schooled more than most girls, because her father wanted his daughters to be educated.
Elizabeth’s father was a successful English merchant. Jacques’s father was a less successful French merchant. When he died Jacques took over and from one shop managed to amass a large industry. In addition to several shops and ships he also owns a sugar plantation on Barbados. Elizabeth and Jacques met in London when he was on business and began their courtship. While her father was unhappy with the prospect of his only daughter moving to France it was an excellent opportunity.
In 1789, Jacques decided France was too unstable. He sold his stores and houses and moved his family and ships to London, England. It didn’t take him long to attain a high position and become one of the wealthiest merchants in the city.
They have six children and of them Genevieve, Cecile, and Pierre are the only ones to show any signs of magic, although when they were told of Hogwarts it was a shock. They have no other known magical family members, and had always tried to hush up the strange events that happened to and around their three children.
Cecile has always been the most energetic in the family and is always getting in trouble for something. Her mother has often despaired of every teaching her youngest daughter to be a proper lady, truth be told, Cecile doesn’t help much on that front. She likes to learn, but doesn’t always cooperate with her tutors.
She often trails her older sister Genevieve or older brother George and Pierre gives her the same treatment. Cecile doesn’t mind at all, she is more than happy to have followers and to teach them her own tricks and bad habits. She does not, however, get along with her twin brother. They never agree and he’s even gone so far as to mock her magic which he claims not to believe him. He easily gets under Cecile’s skin and they often fight. She’s always been a dreamer and wants to go on adventures. That never looked likely, until her sister received her Hogwarts letter. Cecile waited for her own for over a year and is incredibly excited at the prospect of attending the school. One thing she does worry about is being behind the others since she didn’t grow up with magic, but she tries to keep that hidden.
The Wizard Information:
Wand: Nine and a half inches, holly, unicorn hair core.
Pet: Small bluish-gray owl named Athena, she calls her Thea for short. Cecile got her the summer before Hogwarts.
Specific Questions for Muggleborns:
How did your parents react when you received a letter from Hogwarts?
They weren’t surprised as her sister had received one as well. They were actually expecting it for Cecile.
What explanation is given to your family for your long absences while you are at Hogwarts?
That she has joined her Genevieve at the same finishing school she supposedly attends.
What future did your character abandon in favor of coming to Hogwarts?
Only to marry a boy of the same status, in all reality they’ve known she was probably going to go for about a year.
How did your character find out they were magical, how long have they known and how did they react when they got their Hogwarts letter?
Strange things had always happened around the Bloch’s house. The first time Cecile used magic was when she was eight years old. She was annoyed with her twin who was teasing her. He chased her under an apple tree and some of the apples fell off the branches, smacked him in the head, and then chased him into the house. Cecile had been waiting anxiously for her Hogwarts letter and was very excited when it finally came.
Student Skills:
School Ethic: Cecile works relatively hard at things she cares about, but subjects she deems unimportant always suffer. If it’s something she’s interested in, she’ll put extra work into it.
Teacher Relation: It depends on the teacher. In general Cecile would likely be mostly respectful (so she doesn’t get in trouble), but she’s also likely to make jokes and talk back to some extent.
Work Ethic and Diligence: Cecile would have a very good work ethic in things she finds interesting. In subjects she doesn’t she’s not likely to put her best work into, although she’ll do well enough. She’s normally careful about books and such, but she’s liable to forget, if she’s distracted by something she’s more interested in.
Subjects:
Would like: Herbology, Charms, Transfiguration Care of Magical Creatures
Would not like: History of Magic, Etiquette, Potions
Where don't you want to be: Slytherin
