Overall personality: Amelia is a stubborn girl; she will rise to meet any challenge put in front of her to near perfection. She has a tendency to over work herself and ignore her own wants in favour of doing what she needs to do. She’s much more comfortable when she is outside, dealing with animals or plants or just running amuck in nature. Amelia is not a cruel person, but neither is she a saint. She hones in on what has to get done, but will always choose the way to do something that hurts other as little as possible. She will offer to help someone if she has the opportunity. She is a dependable friend to have, because you know she will do everything she can for you, as long as you do the same for her. She likes to be around people like herself, and strives to keep everyone up to snuff.
Diary Entry:
Father is off fighting the French once more, I hope he is okay. He says it is not any trouble; that he will be home before I know it- but I am not so reassured. It is hard, being without him here at home, but I will not let him down. Auntie has been teaching me how to keep household affairs in order; I’m not sure how mother did it- there is so many things to be done! I hope one day I will be able to do it right, but for know I must keep learning. But Auntie says that if I keep working hard she will bring me with her to London one day.
You wouldn’t believe what I saw today when I was out in the gardens with Roland, baby robins in a nest! They were just learning how to fly, and one fell. Such a fiery little thing it kept jumping and flapping its little wings till it finally got up in the air. It was so amazing! I wish I could fly like a bird, how fun!
But now is not the time to be fantasizing over such frivolous things. Auntie will be displeased if I am late for lessons again, we are learning classical literature, it is very dull.

The Appearance
First Impression: Cultured young lady

Overall Appearance: She is actually rather short for her age, 4’11 but is not slender. Other than being short, she is very averagely built. She has fair skin and dark hair, and Amelia’s dark grey eyes are bordered by soft eye lashes. There is a lot of her father in her, her mother’s side only showing up in her eye shape and brows.

The Family History
Parentage: Father: Emmett Emerson: A short, portly, good-hearted man with laugh lines and a red nose from drink. He is off fighting in the war against France (because when isn’t there a war against France) and Napoleon. He sends gifts and letters periodically.
Mother: Georgia Emerson: Passed away two years ago. She was a hard woman, whose family had faced some hard times with her father’s gambling. She was tight in the purse strings and very efficient.
Siblings: None
Other important figures: Auntie: Her name is Petronella Wheaton, and she has been Amelia’s nurse since she was born and now acts and stewardess of the house till Amelia is old enough and her governess. An older woman with a flair for the dramatic, she has always told Amelia interesting stories and taken care of her. Amelia knows her as Auntie because her name was hard to say when she was young at it has stuck.
Roland: A few years older than Amelia he is Petronella’s youngest son and works in gardens. Amelia has been close friends with him for as long as the two could remember and she begged him this job from her mother. The two are think as thieves and spend any free time they can together.
Reputation: The Emerson’s are known mostly for their military distinction. For many generations they have served in officers in the army and the navy, fighting the enemies of England as far back as Kin Edward I.
Secrets: Her mother’s sister is no longer spoken of after she ran away from her betrothed and eloped with an American Colonist.
General: Their home has a large apple orchard, a small forest with a creak and extensive gardens.

How did your parents react when you received a letter from Hogwarts?
Her father doesn’t know, but Auntie was pleased it might make things stop flying around when Amelia got too frustrated (she figured there was a ghost in the house, she’s very superstitious).
What explanation is given to your family for your long absences while you are at Hogwarts?
They are telling her father and other people she is going to a special finishing school, special invitation only type elite school. Sometimes the truth is the best.
What future did your character abandon in favor of coming to Hogwarts?
Being a Lady of a house, marrying for political favour and babies.
How did your character find out they were magical, how long have they known and how did they react when they got their Hogwarts letter?
A few years back, when Amelia started getting very frustrated things sucks as ink pens, books and small objects would fly about, the more frustrated the high the things flew. It was safely assumed that the house was haunted and that it was feeding off of Amelia’s strong emotion. They had many priests come and bless the house. When turned out that it was actually Amelia, there was relief that the odd happens would stop. Amelia was reluctant to go, she had already started to learn how to run a house hold, but Auntie promised to teach her when she came back for the summer and holidays.
Student Skills
School Ethic: It’s a challenge, and sometimes it is fun. Mostly it is another thing to work at and do well in.
Teacher Relation: Amelia is used to being taught one on one, so the class setting will be unusually for her. She is always polite to adults, especially ones she is not close with, so they should find her courteous and helpful.
Work Ethic and Diligence: Amelia strives to do everything and perfectly, this includes school work.
Subjects: She will enjoy Herbology and Care of Magical creatures, but will probably be board in classes like potions and history of magic.
Where don't you want to be: Hufflepuff.
