Favorite Activities: Gwyneth loves to read. She enjoys riding her broom, watching the rain, and most any activity outdoors.
Positive Characteristics: Gwyneth is a very determined, focused, and intuitive individual. She is loyal, tactful, and honest. She would be described as encouraging and friendly for the most part. She is smart and has a great amount of common sense. She is very even tempered, and has a broad sense of humor, which she finds necessary when dealing with children, and very laid back.

Her emotions can get the better of her at times, and she can be a little forceful and persistant. While she is not a mean woman, she can be a little too honest and blunt.
Interaction: Gwyneth is generally friendly to all she meets. Her interactions with others depends on the person. If it is a student, she is helpful and encouraging. With her colleagues, she is generally all smiles, but she does take into consideration who she is dealing with. Their personality and mood effects how she interacts with them.
Habits: Gwyneth can often be found outside, with a book, or in her office when she is not teaching a class. When she is excited, she tends to ramble. Other than that, and a tendancy to be too honest, she does not really have any habits.
Conflict and Hardship: The strugglings of Gwyneth Haverleigh lie with others telling her she would be nothing more than a rich girl. It was expected that she would turn out like her brothers and sisters, living off her parents' money and simply ordering house elves about all day. Gwyneth knew she did not want to be like her family, whose work was nothing and whose pride was extinct. Her family's money was old, an inhertance from the centuries. Gwyneth's nature caused her to resent this easy living, something she considers to be merely existing rather than a life, and was determined at a young age to make her own way in the Wizarding World, with encouragement from her uncle. Some considered her to be ungrateful and spoiled, but she was focused more on living and facing actual struggles, and she is no longer a part of this life style. She now works for everything she has.
Motivation, Passion and Drive: Gwyneth's motivation is to prove to others, that she was not just another rich girl. She is sad that her family does not see fit to better themselves past adequacy. She strives to be like her deceased uncle, who worked for what he had and taught her the meaning of a happy life.
Motto or Catchphrase: "Live today as if it was your last," and "Embrace every opportunity before they all pass you by."
Anything else...: Gwyneth truly wishes her family had more motivation. She is always trying to improve her skills and weaknesses, and encourages others to do so as well, though this is one case where she is not very persistant. She realizes that it is a choice to do one's best, and she accepts that not everyone wants to try as hard as others.

She found this to be exciting, but not very rewarding. There was rarely a day where she felt thoroughly happy about working in such a controlled, unrealistic environment. When she was offered the position at Hogwarts, she was delighted beyond all reason. Ever since, she has never regretted the years she spent int he Ministry, as they were a perfect prelude to teaching.
Wizard Information
Discovery: Being pureblood, Gwyneth always knew about magic. She had little fear of being a squib, and exhibited her magic when she was five, when she had thrown a tantrum about a silly rabbit she had rescued from the forest that her mother refused to keep. She had not only healed the rabbit, but turned it into an owl because her mother had said "Rabbits are not useful, darling. Like a house elf, or an owl." The rabbit was changed back, of course.Reaction and Acceptance: Gwyneth's knowledge of magic was somewhat limited when she was young, but she had always been curious how her parents and other adult family members could possibly do the things they did, such as summon a book from a room miles away, or pop in and out of their home.
Wand: 11 inches, Yale Horn magic core, mahogany wood
Magical Outline/Disposition: Gwyneth is amazed that Muggles can live without magic. She loves magic, itself, but finds that it can also be a little...too necessary, since she cannot imagine life without it. Though she has certainly tried in the past to not use as much magic to do little things, she finds that it is both impossible and illogical not to make use of magic. She enjoys being able to do things with it, even the little things.
Pet: Gwyneth finds she does not need a pet. She does have an owl named Westley who is a very good companion..
Family History
Parentage: Mother-Amelia Haverleigh, Father-Colin Haverleigh
Siblings: in order...Sabrina Thorton (37), Addison Haverleigh (34), herself, Lorraine Haverleigh (26), Julian Haverleigh (25)
Other Important Figures: Aunt Beatrice and Uncle Patrick, Cousin Julia (21), Cousin Rupert (19), Uncle Westley (deceased)
Reputation: The family reputation was, at one time, very open and friendly. In the past fifty or so years, however, the family has become reclusive.
Secrets: Gwyneth knows there are secrets surrounding Uncle Westley's death. He was the eldest between the three Haverleigh brothers: Westley, Colin, and Patrick. Gwyneth believes it had something to do with an item her dearly departed uncle found in the forest outside their home. The item was in a rosewood box and wrapped, inside the box, in blue silk. It was a beautiful, cone-shaped, striped crystal. She keeps it in her office at school.
General: Gwyneth's parents, younger siblings, aunt, uncle, and cousins exist on the Haverleigh Estate, with the money that had been inherited a long time ago. Gwyneth is the odd one out, since Uncle Westley died. She, like her uncle had, despises idleness, and works hard. Like her uncle, she likes to learn hands-on, and teaches that way as well. Her eldest sister is a widow, and lives with her parents and children on the Haverleigh Estate. Her elder brother lives in London, with his wife in her family home (her family passed away, and she was the only child).
