Today began like every other day. She woke up the one patient she was tending to at the moment; a mousy haired Slytherin boy who had to have had his eyesight restored over night. A close inspection told her the child was fine and could see well enough to go back to class, so she booted him out of her ward without mercy.
The Hospital wing looked meticulous in the morning light that flooded in through the high windows. All beds were made, pots and pans were stacked on their shelves and all her medical supplies were safely stored away in her office. If she was lucky, she might be able to knit that new sweater before the next unfortunate would wander into her ward.

"Warning, this is a magical sweet.
Careful how much ye' eat
Lest ye' be resting off your feet
Feeling ill and spitting slugs, til red and beet!" (And yes I did spell out a turnip instead of a tired descriptor, heh!)
That was exactly what was happening as well. A few of the Ravenclaw younger students had a bet to see just how many a person could tolerate before they felt the effects of the warning label. So far Cerri had been in the lead, with a few other classmates right behind her. Before they knew it, they were all spitting up slugs with the most disgusting after tastes. If one dared to describe it, it was something akin to licorice with a bit of vomit and lucretiousness mixed in because of the most disgusting things exiting her mouth and into a well placed canister beside her bed. She wasn't alone, about 4 or 5 other cots in the Hospital room were filled with other students.

As Allison walked into the ward, she was suddenly aware of the clean, clinical smell. Allison made her way around the beds, calling out names then finding their owners. Last she came upon the name Cerridwyn Glynn. Cerridwyn? Allison called out. There were only a few people who had not gotten mail yet, and Allison was hopeing whomever this Cerridwyn was she would want to talk...or at least would after she got out of the hospital wing.

~It would be worth it in the long run, please let this all be worth it.~ She pleaded with herself, trying to find a silver lining to this dark cloud.
"Cerridwyn." She heard her name called out. Looking up with the most pitiful look on her face, Cerri was forced to look back down and into the bucket a second later. With her face inside the bucket, she raised her arm awkwardly as if to signal the girl over.
"Here." Her voice echoed inside the bucket. It's odd to hear yourself when you're in a new sound environment. It just didn't sound like her at all, and she knew it. She could only guess that without her face, it wouldn't look like her either.

Cerri's attentions were immediately grabbed when the girl in front of her annouced she had brought her mail. The Ravenclaw's eyes lit up with surprise and disbelief.
"I....I have mail?" She asked allowed, shocked. She brought a dainty handkerchief to her face and cleaned herself off.
"Please, please. Bring it here." She hadn't gotten any mail from her family since her sister, Gwyneth, had placed the house in a quarantine. She held her free hand out, impatiently hoping to find a letter from her Father.

"Oh, thank you. I didn't realize I would get mail today." She said realizing that if she opened the letter and read it, that might be seen as a little rude to the girl that had brought it to her.
"I'm sorry, you asked me a question. I'm affraid I missed part of it." She sat up feeling a lot better since she first came in. She wasn't well by any means, but feeling better meant no more embarrassing moments. She placed the bucket down, disgusted, herself, by it's contents. She was quite careful to place the bucket on the opposite side of the bed.
Cerri laid the letter down to the bed and looked up to Cassidy.
"Allison, right? I haven't spent much time getting to know the Firstyears as much as I should have." She didn't really have to answer the question Cassidy asked. It had been lonely and probably would be until she was feeling better to go back to her dorm. No one wants to stick around when such disgusting things were being retched.
"I don't think I've ever been in here before. What's in all those cabinets?" Cerri pondered as she looked over the counters that seemed to be packed with a number of different colored vials and potions and even salves of madicinal use. Cerri wondered if a sleeping draught was part of the stores here. She might need it later in the evening when it was time for sleep.

"Will you see if they have anything labeled to help with sleeping. Like a Sleeping Draught or Mindclouts? I think I'm going to need to sleep well tonight." Cerri called out to her new friend. Cerri would have checked herself, but being scared that the slugs might come back was not a pleasant fear to have.
After a few moments Cerri looked back up to Alice with a slight grin. This was perfect. Not that Cerri liked using others, but now she might get everything accomplished from the Hospital Wing that she set out on, without anyone figuring out her greater plan. Oh those Slytherins were going to have a great time figuring out what happened!

"Have you missed many classes since you have been in? I can get your work or something if you would like." Allison offered. Allison didn't care for being behind in class and she guessed no one else would either, especially a Ravenclaw.

"Umm, no. I just got here today. A few hours really. But thanks for your concern." The Ravenclaw wasn't really sure how to take this and thought she should just be nice and polite over the matter. Allison did bring her her mail and all and tht was a very thoughtful thing to do.
"So. How has your first year at Hogwart's been? Do you like it here? I do. I think this is the best place in the world. Schooling and education but my Aunt Mathilda told me that the friends I make here will last me the rest of my life." Cerri nodded thoughtfully as she thought about the friends and acquaintances she had met so far.

"This place is always and always will be ~so~ far from home, even if home is right down the street." She grinned remembering her first year here. But on Cerri's side there was the fact that she wasn't with her parents while here. It was like being on vacation. The Glynn Elders weren't bad people, it was just that mum could be a bit overbearing with her social attitudes. Mrs. Glynn came from a well to do pureblood family, while Mr. Glynn, pureblood as he was, not not as influential as his wife was. She had money and he had a successful business. It was a marriage matched in antiquity, perfect in everyway except for the the loving fun of the family.
"Yes. My Aunt is wonderful. Sometimes I wish she could be my mum. Oh, I'm sorry I shouldn't say that." Cerri remembered the trouble she got in last summer when she asked her father that same question. Oh that was a mess indeed.

"Sorry?" That single word caught Cerri's immediate attention.
"Sorry for what?" She asked confused. "My mother would have a fit if she found out my best friends here at Hogwarts were boys." The very thought of the conversation Cerri and her mother were going to have if such knowledge got out gave her both a chill down her spine and rebellious smile on her face.
"Don't worry about a thing. I completely understand."

"I ate too many magic candies." They don't obviously. Instead, she bothered not to say the exact the reasoning behind it all and opted for just the factual truth.
"I don't recommend that for anyone, not even enemies." She paused for a moment rethinking it all.
"Well, okay, yes, probably for enemies." It's quite humilating.
She looked to the sleeping draught that was on the small nightstand next to her bed. Mission accomplished
(I think this should end the thread unless Ms. Longbottom feels the need to jump in
