[School Governor]

There are so many staff user groups.. what do they do?
The Headmistress and two deputies are equal to one another. Together they run the school and DMRP overall, the difference is really only the name of their account. They have the same power and rights amongst them.
Support staff such as ministry workers, governors, the sorting hat and other characters that aren't really played do not hold any actual power, and can not be pm'd with questions either. Their Owlery will be disabled for this purpose.
Professors are primarily teachers. If they are also moderators, depends on their own wishes and qualifications.
Moderators might not always be directly recognized, but they will make sure and enforce that everyone will follow the rules. They are most likely students like yourself, with added responsibility. Their tasks do not include prefect duties.
Prefects are, like their Heads of Houses, primarily responsible for what goes on inside their Houses.

Why am I not allowed to add an image to my signature?
Because your signature will instead be used to display the achievements of your character! Each class and each year will earn you icons to display, professors will give them out at the end of the school year to anyone who participated in their classes, but there will also be icons earned by participating in events, for winning the housecup, and so on.

I want to upload a personal photo, but it's not working!
Your personal photo can not be over 50kb in size, and be no bigger than 150x150 pixels. It has to be a .jpg, .gif or .png extension. You can upload a personal picture here.

some people have "blood status" under their avatar, how can i do that?
Go to My Settings, then profile (click on your name in the top right corner of the board) You can change your real name on the same page. Blood status is all the way down at the bottom.  

How can I see what year someone is in?
You can see by the user icons what year and what House someone is in. For example:

Shows you this character is in Gryffindor, and their 1st year.

Some topics have more stars than others on the forums, why is that?
Topics in most forums can be rated. This is your way to subtly let other players know you like or dislike their topics. It's meant to be an encouragement, show your fellow players they're doing a good job, or if there's work to be done yet. You can rate a topic in the top part of any open topic.

There's a little tab in peoples posts, what does it do?
This is your way to show your fellow RPers that you really enjoyed their post, so they know they are doing a good job. Post rating is meant as an encouragement, and you are limited to 5 ratings per day, use them wisely.

How come I have topic moderation available?
Each member has the power to open and close their own topics. If your topic is finished, you're free to close it, but always post a closing reason! If you're going to be absent for a couple days and would hate your topic progressing without you, there's the option to close it as well. If your topic is getting out of hand for whatever reason, close it to stop whatever is going on and report one of the posts in the topic with the issue, so staff can come over and look at it.

Oops, made a typo in my topic title!
Not to worry, in the subforum page, hover your mouse over your topic. Two small images will appear, a small bar, and a lock. Click the first one to change the topic title. The second one will lock the topic so no one can post.

Is there a way to keep track of the topics I'm in?
Yep! Go to the Forums tab in your profile settings, and select "watch every topic I reply to", then choose how you wish to be notified of any new replies to that topic. To manage the topics you're watching, go to manage watched topics. Watched topics will also appear in the sidebar at the bottom part.

Why do I have to report posts, and not just contact the first staff member I see online?
Because it's easier! The report button is right there in the post you find breaking the rules, a report is also the fastest way to make sure a correct staff member receives your issue. It is the fastest way to get a staff members attention.
