The Basics:
Full Character Name: Eileen Alexandra Wood
Likes to be called:Eileen, Eily
Birthdate: July 21, 1782
Age: 11
Residence: Eileen is a country girl from the northeast of England, close to Scotland. She lives in a really small town where she was born and raised up to this point.
Blood: muggleborn
Note: muggleborns and orphans (where appropriate), will be accompanied to Diagon Alley by a staff member to buy their supplies. If you wish to actually RP this, please request so by sending a pm to either the headmistress, or her Deputies. There is a blood-type specific section in the Character Card setup, please only answer the questions relevant to your character!
Social Class/father’s occupation: Her family owns an inn that Eileen often works at with her parents.
The Personality
Emotional Disposition: Eileen is generally in a very good mood and happy.
Core Value: brave or stupid (when someone makes her mad, such as someone calling her a Mudblood, she'll pick a fight whether she's outclassed or not.)
Positive Characteristics: loyal, friendly, courteous, confident, honest, diligent, intelligent
Negative Characteristics: indecisive, difficult to earn trust (encounter in Diagon Alley when first called Mudblood), scatter-brained, too protective (over friends and family)
Conflict and hardship: Though she loves her family, she will often get depressed at home because she is so different compared to them because of her "gift." She doesn't really feel that she belongs at Hogwarts, but is trying to exceed her own expectation. She doesn't like being called a Mudblood and will fight ANYONE who says it to her face.
Motivation, Passion and Drive: She wants to prove herself to both the Wizarding World and her parents that she is self-reliant and that being muggleborn doesn't mean that she is incapable of being a great witch.
Motto or catchphrase: What doesn't kill me makes me stronger, and what makes me stronger makes for a good challenge.
Overall personality: Eileen is a determined 11 year-old that is ready to take on any challenge that she faces. Her mother often calls her reckless because of the trouble she can get into (such as angering the local farmer's bull and getting chased all over the fields until the farmer could catch the animal). She is always eager to help her parents, whether it's taking care of her younger brother or cleaning up the rooms of the inn for the next customer. She is a fairly good friend and loyal to her friends. When someone angers her (such as calling her a Mudblood or harming one of her friends), she will, without warning or any sort of sign, fight, whether she has a good chance of winning or not. She will tend to bite her nails when she's nervous.
Diary Entry: I was walking to George's house today and learned his mother was deathly sick. Mum and I made her some soup in hopes that she will get better, but I honestly think that George should be happy. I know I am. She beats him and is really mean to all the town kids.
The Appearance
First Impression: She looks like a quiet girl with a happy grin all the time
On Second thought..: She is not as quiet as she seems. She is a genuinely happy person, though she can sometimes be a perfectionist when it comes to her spells and proving herself, but she is quite a talker when you get to know her.
Overall Appearance: Eileen's hair is a golden blonde. She has bright, blue-green eyes and freckles across her nose. Her skin is pale, but she tans easily when in the sun for extensive periods of time. She has a few visible scars from her escapades in the country. She looks a little small for her age, but that by no means discourages her.
Basic Skills:
Can your character:
Read: Yes. And she loves to read as much as she can.
Write: Yes. She keeps a journal.
Handle Money: She can count and do simple math, if that's what you mean.
The Family History
Parentage: Eileen's parents own an inn, located in a very small town in northeastern England, about 50 miles from the Scotland border. Her parents are very loving and care about her very much. They worry that she won't fit in at Hogwarts.
Siblings: Eileen has one little brother named Nolan. He is 8 and is fascinated by his sister's powers that she can't really control, except when subduing them.
Other important figures: Eileen has a few friends in the town, but the only real person she worries about is George, a little boy that has a very rude and hateful mother.
Reputation: In the Muggle World, they are known in their small town to own an inn with a pub on the ground floor.
Secrets: The only thing that they don't talk about is that their daughter has magic powers and their son seems to have the beginnings of it. Oh! And a strange aunt that no one really knows where she came from. She doesn't seem to be related to the immediate family, but claims to be the illegitimate child of Eileen's grandfather when he was in Scotland (Grandad went to Scotland a long time ago and she looks about that age, but doesn't look a thing like Grandad, so it's hard to tell. She hangs around and helps out in the pub. She is an excellent barmaid and is actually very attractive despite the ratty, red hair). She didn't seem at all surprised when Eileen got her letter and often tells her that she is proud of her. Most of the family doesn't like this aunt, Aunt Irena, except for Eileen and her brother.
General: Nope. That about sums it up.
The Wizard Information:
Wand: Brazilian Walnut with a Sea Serpent scale as the magical core
Pet: She is bringing an eagle-owl (species also called a horned owl, but I thought eagle-owl sounded cooler) named Glen
the section below consists of 3 parts, please delete the 2 that aren't relevant to your character and answer the questions of the 1 left.
Specific Questions for Muggleborns:
How did your parents react when you received a letter from Hogwarts? Eileen's parents were surprised, but really excited for her.
What explanation is given to your family for your long absences while you are at Hogwarts? She is visiting her uncle in London, who owns a newspaper.
What future did your character abandon in favor of coming to Hogwarts? Actually going to London to work with her uncle at his newspaper.
How did your character find out they were magical, how long have they known and how did they react when they got their Hogwarts letter? There was an incident with George's mother being lifted from where she sat and dangled in the air for 17 minutes and 28 seconds when she said to Eileen "You are a selfish, spoiled little girl and your parents should have never allowed you to leave your room. My George should have much better friends."
Student Skills:
School Ethic: She is diligent and keeps in mind that is she wasn't a witch, she wouldn't have the opportunity to study at all.
Teacher Relation: They can be a bit overzealous and/or snobbish, but all they are really there for is to learn from. You don't have to like them.
Work Ethic and Diligence: She is diligent and takes good care of school related things. She writes well and reads often.
Subjects: She will most likely love Defense Against the Dark Arts and Charms, and hate Herbology and Transfiguration. Potions she will be good at, but neutral on whether she likes it or not.
Where don't you want to be: Since she is muggleborn, Eileen will probably not like being in Slytherin because of the prejudice there. She wouldn't mind Hufflepuff, but would most likely prefer Gryffindor or Ravenclaw.
