What is the adoption center?
The adoption center helps you find someone who can help you out when you first start RPing, or to get to know someone when you first start RPing on DMRP.
What does an Adopter do?
Depending on your needs, they'll introduce you to DMRP and help you get around, or they help you get over those first steps in RPing. Or both.
For example, the adopter might keep track of your posts and tell you where things have room to improve, or you'll start a topic with your adopter so they can help you practice and give useful feedback that you can use to learn the ropes of Roleplay.
Who can be an adopter?
Anyone who has the time and interest to help new and inexperienced members out can adopt but there's a few ground rules:
1) You need to be an experienced RPer yourself, if you have any doubts if you are, it's probably best not to offer yourself up as Adopter.
2) Kindness and Patience are some of your strong points. We're not here to tell people they aren't doing it right, we're here to help them learn.
3) You can not adopt members you know in real life. The point of the Adoption Center is to match up people that do not know each other, so they have someone out of their comfort-zone to turn to and RP with.
How do I get adopted?
Simply post in this topic that you are looking to be adopted. Please add your timezone
and the primary reason to be adopted: new to RPing overall or new to DMRP and wanting to get to know someone.
How do I become an Adopter?
Wait until someone requests to be adopted, and reply to their post. Keep an eye on the timezones mentioned so we don't match up people in conflicting timezones! Check what kind of help the adoptee is asking for before snatching yourself up a cute new member.
Can more than one person adopt the same adoptee?
Rather not, but if you want to extend your help, contact the initial adopter to ask if they would mind a co-adoptship.
Can I be forced to become adopted?
No, but if we see you're struggling on the forums, we will strongly suggest you post here, so you can find someone that will help you get the most out of DMRP and RPing.

I don't mind being a big sister, heh. I live in Central time zone, but I'm about at odd and differing times, depending on my home schedule.
Don't be shy, I love to post, type, chat, random quirk away. This site is way too awesome to let new persons walk away intimidated or scared to find a way to jump in. It feels like home.

Hey,
I'm Meghan Morris. I need to be adopted because I have never RP'd. I am in the Central Time Zone but I usually get on around 10 or 12 P.M. anyway. I just need someone to show me the ropes and help me with forums if possible!
Thanks,
Meghan

I'm Kitty. The one who brings crazy to the OOC forums and cbox. I'l eastern standard time, like, Maine. But I'm on at the oddest times. I'm pretty good with forums and HTML codes. But..... I lose my patience easily. OKAY! SO I'LL TEACH YOU FUNNLY!

Can someone adopt me? I'm totally new to role playing and I feel kind of timid, but I want to start RPing.
