The Basics:

Full Character Name: Levi Harold Peterson
Likes to be called: Levi is fine with him.
Birth date: May 17
Age: 11
Residence: A quaint little village in Ireland above a tailors his father owns. It is one of the slightly poorer areas and as far as Levi knows he is the only wizard there.
Blood: Muggleborn
Social Class/father’s occupation: Levi's family have always been of a somewhat below average class. His father owns his own tailor which does reasonably well, with his mother occasionally helping by making dresses to sell.

The Personality

Emotional Disposition: Levi is a very quiet person and it would take a lot to break his normally calm demeanour.
Core Value: Quiet would probably be the first that springs to mind, as Levi is not one to speak just for the sake of filling a silence.
Positive Characteristics: He has always been a very patient person and he is very good tempered; it takes a lot to get him really riled up. He never really has a bad word to say about anyone and even if he didn’t like someone at all, he wouldn’t tell them what he thought to their face.
Negative Characteristics: He isn’t very vocal about his problems so if he is very upset or angry, it is unlikely he will tell anybody what he is going through. It isn’t that he is worried about his pride or what not, it’s the fact that he doesn’t want to ‘disturb’ people, though that is often not the case.
Conflict and hardship: His parents are struggling to bring in new customers to their tailoring business , causing a lot of strain upon the household.
Motivation, Passion and Drive: Levi is motivated by his friends and family, or rather what they think of him. He is a people pleaser and he constantly seeks the approval of those he looks up to. His father in particular inspires Levi, as when he is older he will take over the families tailoring business and Levi is learning everything possible about the trade from his father.
Motto or catchphrase: Content makes poor men rich; discontentment makes rich men poor.
Overall personality: Levi is often too sweet for his own good. He is an eternal people pleaser, not wishing to upset or anger people yet he won’t mind terribly if he is hurt along the way. He doesn't get angry easily himself and usually just ignores things, until you get him to his breaking point; even then it is mostly a rather half hearted telling off. He hates losing his cool and it’s something he does try his best to avoid. He can't stand arguing with people, and he hates it when he falls out with somebody. He hates shouting and, although he would never admit it, it scares him. The first sign of an argument brewing, his first thought is run away now!. Fights bother him, whether the confrontations are verbal, physical or magical.

If his friends have a problem, chances are Levi would be the first person they would come to. He would listen to their problems, never judging them (because Levi is never judgemental, not aloud anyway), maybe offering a sound of agreement here and there. He knows where he can help, but he also knows where to keep his mouth shut. He'll try to fix or soothe whatever is happening yet he also knows that some things have to be done alone. Levi is a terrific friend to anyone who needs one. The person's house, age or gender has no effect on Levi's almost maternal nature. His loyalty is very strong and once he has met someone of whom he truly likes, he won't turn his back on them. The friends he makes tend to be friends for a while, and it is quite rare that he will stop talking to somebody, for whatever reason it is.

Being very humble, Levi doesn't think much of himself. Even if you told him he is the most amazing person you'd ever had the pleasure of meeting, he would wave it off as nothing and try to prove that you are wrong, his cheeks glowing red with embarrassment at such a gesture. He does have a slightly low self esteem -- no particular reason for it, he just doesn't believe in himself quite as much as he should do. Levi has been raised to tell the truth at all times, with his parents' firm belief that any lie, no matter how small, will do more harm than good. Although he prides himself with his honesty, he may lie by omission (he'll defend himself by saying the person never asked, so what is the point of telling?) He will not say if he has been upset by something you have done or something you have said in passing, he'll brush it off with a smile and tell you he is fine. Though people often share themselves with Levi, he wouldn't lay himself bare like that, exposed for everyone to see.

Levi can be quite naive about some people and the way they act towards others. He doesn't judge a book by its cover and can be far too kind and trusting for his own good. He believes that everybody has some good in them and his naivety can lead him into getting hurt or into trouble. Should a person double-cross him, he would not blame them for anything. He would stay quiet, never voicing his opinion, just watching you with large liquid eyes full of reproach. Upsetting him so is reminiscent of scolding a particularly eager puppy -- he would be filled with sadness, yet at the same time he would also long for you just to say anything, just so long as you speak to him.
Diary Entry: Dear Diary,
Today, father showed me how to handle the money at the shop. I learnt what prices were able and how to give the right change. I’ve mostly gotten the hang of it, although Mrs Smith from down the road got angry when I didn’t give her the right amount back. Father didn’t get mad though; he just apologized to Mrs Smith and took me through it all again.
Some strange things have been happening to me lately. The other day when I was out skipping rocks at the lake, all of the stones kept moving like jumping up into the air and stuff. It was pretty freaky, but not the weirdest thing that has ever happened to me.

The Appearance

First Impression: Somebody’s first impression of him might be that he is a rather average child. He looks neat and tidy but overall he is rather forgettable.
On Second thought..: That person would be mostly correct; in terms of the physical aspects, Levi has a rather forgettable face. His facial expression is always rather open about what he is feeling.
Overall Appearance: Levi has brown hair which is cut fairly short so it sits about an inch off his eyebrows and it lies mostly flat on a good day. He has the kind of hair that tends to curl at the ends if it gets damp; His eyes are also brown. He has very fair skin that burns easily and he has a large sprinkling of freckles across his face. Levi is small and slight, all pointed elbows and knobbly knees.

Basic Skills:

Can your character:
Read: yes
Write: yes
Handle Money: to some extent, yes

The Family History

Parentage: Tobias Peterson is a warm and very friendly man. He has a wonderful sense of humour, a heart of gold but the strange ability to make you want to please him.
Christina (nee Banks) Peterson is Levi’s playful, if not slightly scatterbrained, mother. She is always forgetting where she has placed things or what needs to be done. She always seems to be in a bit of a hurry, but no matter what she is doing, she is happy to stop and lend a sympathetic ear and a warm hug.
Siblings: Levi is an only child.
Other important figures: Tobias has a brother named Henry who is a few years younger than him. Uncle Henry has made a very fine living for himself: He is a very wealthy merchant with deals across Europe, a very beautiful Spanish wife and two equally beautiful daughters. Levi always dreads his Uncle visiting because it’s a chance for Henry to boast about his life and how rich and successful he is. His youngest daughter Miranda is a few years older than Levi is and she isn’t nearly as stuck up as the rest of her family is, so she and Levi have a tentative friendship.
Reputation: His parents are well liked people in the village although people tend to steer clear of ‘that strange boy of theirs’
Secrets: The family try to be open with one another so there is little to hide from one another. They do have to hide the fact that Levi is magical from everyone else in the village, because as far as they know Levi is the only wizard in their village.
General: The Peterson’s truly love each other, but it is quite rare for them to all be in the same room as one another for long periods of time. Tobias always seems to working and Christina travels to the next town over to work as a maid for one of the richer families. This always left Levi to amuse himself, so he spent most of his time helping his father and learning how to care for the shop.

The Wizard Information:

Wand: Willow and unicorn tail, 10"
Pet: He was never allowed to own an animal because of his mother dislike of anything with a tail and fur.

Specific Questions for Muggleborns:
How did your parents react when you received a letter from Hogwarts? They had always known that Levi was a little odd, but even they didn’t realise what he was. It took a little while for them to get used to the idea but they agree it’s the best thing for him.
What explanation is given to your family for your long absences while you are at Hogwarts? People are told that he is going to school in England, courtesy of Christina’s mother.
What future did your character abandon in favour of coming to Hogwarts? There wasn’t really a future for Levi: His father taught him mathematics, and basic tailoring and business skills, and his mother had read with him.
How did your character find out they were magical, how long have they known and how did they react when they got their Hogwarts letter? Strange things had always been happening to Levi for as long as he could remember. It was a huge shock to him when he received his letter, although after the initial shock wore off he was delighted.

Student Skills:

School Ethic: Levi was mostly taught by his parents (though twice a week he would go to Mr Jenkins in the town with some other village children to learn history and science). Although he is excited to get the chance to go to Hogwarts, he is a little nervous about it all too.
Teacher Relation: He has been taught to always respect people of authority and this will be no different. He would be polite, if not slightly intimidated, of the professors.
Work Ethic and Diligence: He takes good care of his things, so he wouldn’t lose anything. He would try with his class work and homework but he was never very studious. His reading and writing skills are average and his writing his messy but luckily legible.
Subjects: He would work hard in charms and possibly herbology too, as they both sound like incredibly interesting subjects. He can’t imagine himself liking or being very good at transfiguration as it sounds very complicated.
Where don't you want to be: He wouldn’t like to be in Slytherin at all, as Levi has never gotten along with people like that and he simply can imagine himself being placed there.

Great card Tina but you do need to change your date of birth - your character has to be 11 on September 1 1793 and yours is 0!
