[The Sorting Hat]

Hello Jordan,  Welcome to DMRP. You've made it to the Introduction forum where we're very happy to see you! While you are here, please take the time to introduce yourself to your fellow RPers and ask any questions you might want to ask about the rules and the game in general. Is Jordan the name you want to give your character? If not, please post with the full name of the character you wish to play, so we can change your Display Name for you. Once you've familiarized yourself with the forum and your fellow students, and your account has been approved, you'll promote to the rank of Apprentice. This will enable you to post in the out-of-hogwarts areas of the forum such as Diagon Alley and In the Country. Hello Jordan, welcome to DMRP
I'm Jon and I play Joe and Mary Wilkins, also Professor d'Ambray.

The first thing we ask all our new members is to post something in their welcome threads. This proves to us that you are indeed human and not merely a bot. Once you have proven your humanity one of the admins will come along and bump you up to 'apprentice' so you can post your character card.

You should also consider what name you want to give to your character (first and last name). If 'Jordan' is your own name then you might want to consider something else for the character you want to play. If you let us know here what name you want to give to your character, we can update your display name to match. This will be your 'display name' that is amended, your login name will continue to be the one you used when your registered.

When you are apprenticed, you can post your character card. Just start a new thread in the 'character cards' area and a template will appear which you can use to lay our your card. Unfortunately you won't be able to start a thread until your character is bumped, as mentioned above. In the mean time though, you are welcome to look around the forum and the rules.

At the present time there is a sorting stop in operation. This is because we are coming to the latter stages of the in-game school year and it is not appropriate to sort students at this point. You shouldn't have to wait much more than a month or so, but once your card has been submitted you can post in out-of-school areas such as Diagon Alley.
