Hello Avra, Welcome to DMRP. You've made it to the Introduction forum where we're very happy to see you! While you are here, please take the time to introduce yourself to your fellow RPers and ask any questions you might want to ask about the rules and the game in general. Deputy Headmaster Professor Denman explained in the welcome pm you received what this forum is, and why you're here, so if you haven't read it yet, please go to your Owleryand check your Owls. Is Avra the name you want to give your character? If not, please post with the full name of the character you wish to play, so we can change your Display Name for you. Once you've familiarized yourself with the forum and your fellow students, and your account has been approved, you'll promote to the rank of Apprentice. This will enable you to post in the out-of-hogwarts areas of the forum such as Diagon Alley and In the Country. Hello and welcome to DMRP
I'm Jon and I play Joe and Mary Wilkins, also Professor d'Ambray.
The first thing we ask all our new members to do is post in their welcome topic, this assures us that the person who just arrived is indeed human and not merely a bot. You will notice that member status is currently showing as 'novice'. If you post in here then one of the admins will see it and should then bump your level up to 'apprentice' so you can post your character card.
One thing you should consider in your response is what you want to call your character. All characters on DMRP have first and last names, once we know this we can change your display name to the name of your character. This change only effects your display name. The name you log in with will still be the one you used when you joined.
You might also want to tell us a little bit about yourself by way of an introduction, but that is up to you.
Whilst you are waiting to be bumped up, you are welcome to look around the rest of the forum, and peruse the rules. We are a friendly crowd but we do have a few guidelines
Once you have been bumped up to 'apprentice' you can work on and post your Character Card. All you need to do is go to the Character Cards forum and start a new topic. A pre-formatted template will then be presented for you to create your character.
Unfortunately there is a sorting stop in effect at the moment, as we are coming to the end of the in-game school year. We are currently coming up to the Easter event in the game, so it shouldn't be more than a few weeks before we have played the current year to its conclusion. In the mean time, once you have posted your character card you are welcome to RP in any out-of-school ears such as Diagon Alley.
If you have any further questions, feel free to post them here.
