[The Sorting Hat]

Hello acedolf,  Welcome to DMRP. You've made it to the Introduction forum where we're very happy to see you! While you are here, please take the time to introduce yourself to your fellow RPers and ask any questions you might want to ask about the rules and the game in general. Once you've familiarized yourself with the forum and your fellow students, and your account has been approved, you'll promote to the rank of Apprentice. This will enable you to post in the out-of-hogwarts areas of the forum such as Diagon Alley and In the Country. Hello Acedolf, welcome to DMRP

I'm Jon and I play Joe and Mary Wllkins, also Professor d'Ambray.

I noticed that you asked in the cbox how you would get sorted. Well the first thing you need to look at is your character. This person will need a name, a first and last name. If you want to tell us what you want to call your character, one of the admins will change your display name accordingly. This is only your display name, your login name will be as it was when you joined.

Before you can be sorted you will need to complete a character card but before then your account will need to be upgraded from 'novice' to 'apprentice'. Now that you have posted in here which is what we ask all new members to do, an admin should do this before too long. This is just a check we perform to ensure that everybody who signs up is a real person and not a bot.

As soon as you are 'apprentice' you can complete and post a character card. If you start a blank thread in the 'character cards' area, this will create a pre-formatted template that you can use to write your card. As soon as your card is posted, you will be able to RP in the out-of-school areas, such as Diagon Alley.

There is a sorting stop in effect right now though, as we are nearing the end of the school year (in the game) and it would not be appropriate to sort new students at this time. We ask you to be patient with us, it shouldn't be more than a few weeks before the stop is lifted.

In the mean time feel free to look around the forum, and the rules. If you have any further questions you are welcome to ask them here. If you like you might also want to tell us a little about yourself, just by way of an introduction but you don't have to if you would rather not.
