Alexander stood in the Seventh Floor corridor where he had been sure he saw cloaks disappear into the wall that night before. He stood transfixed at the tapestry of Barnabas the Barmy. Wondering how it had been possible. His curiosity felt peaked by the mysterious vanishing of the trio. He was sure that those who disappeared were Meghan, Adelaine and Lisette, but he couldn't be certain. He had definitely not stayed long in the corridor after last night; not thinking prudish to be out in the Halls too late as Ogren the Caretaker liked to tell his students about all the flogging he was behind on.

If he had only watched the girls enter the secret room, he would be keen to investigate it himself. However, no such luck came. He tried murmuring a few words, tried an incantation but nothing seemed to work. Just as he was about to turn around and go down the corridor to the portrait of George von Rheticus (which hid a secret passageway down to the bottom of the Grand Staircase), having a wasted an hour of his monrning (he had gotten up at six and was about to go back down to have breakfast) he heard a shuffling of feet.

Meghan glanced nervously over her shoulder as she hurried along, hoping to further explore the Room of Requirement while everyone else attended breakfast. No doubt she'd pay for the lack of a full belly, later as time slowly passed in her classes. A ravenous stomach she could endure, but a ravenous mind was something to be remedied as soon as possible. Having not spent as much time as wanted exploring the mystical room last night, Meghan was eager to continue her trek through the seemingly endless room. Even after the girls had departed to their own commons, the Animagus book had glued itself to Meghan's train of thought. The thought intrigued Meghan as she wanted to see whether it could actually be obtainable. Could the trio, maybe turn Animagus without the help of a full wizard or witch? It would be most excellent if they could. Perhaps she could bring it up when she met the girls, they would be here any moment now.

In her haste Meghan was flabbergasted to find Alexander standing near the entrance of the room. How could this have happened? Was is merely chance he was here, or did he know about the room? Figuring that shuffling her feet would not answer her question, she was about to speak, when instead an utterly embarrassing squeak, resembling that of a mouse, came out instead.

Clearing her throat, and playing with her hands she lifted her eyes and finally said, "Fancy meeting you here Alexander, shouldn't you be off to breakfast? A growing boy needs his food." Not what she had planned on saying, but it would make do. Meghan shifted from one foot to the other an awkward silence filling the air. Meghan Morris, was not a shy person, but caught in her act she felt her cheeks heat as she tried to keep from averting her eyes. Her mother had told her that that was a sure sign of someone lying.

Alexander expected a much older voice but was mildly surprised to hear the Meghan soft voice. "Fancy meeting you here Alexander, shouldn't you be off to breakfast? A growing boy needs his food."

He smirked, his luck to meet across the person he was sure had gone into the room. Oddly enough the girl seemed to have been caught off-guard as she flushed averting his gaze at the same time. He wasn't about to accuse her of doing so, just because it would likely mean that she'd tell Adelaine and she'd accuse him of eavesdropping and spying on them again which he did not want nor care for.

"I was just about to go down, in fact" the boy said nonchalantly. Wondering if she'd think it strange he was here at seven o'clock in the morning when the Slytherin Dungeons were so far below. "Forgot my notes, left them in the Study Hall." the Slytherin said while producing a thick number of scrolls neatly wrapped like a crêpe.

Meghan let out a breath, she had not been aware she was holding. Where was her the nerve, that had led her to the Gryffindor table during the Sorting. Perhaps she should have been a Hufflepuff, if it were so hard for her to formulate a mere sentence. Shaking off those unpleasant thoughts, Meghan forced a weak smile  as Alexander's excuse and struggled to come up of one for herself.

"I'm glad you found them. It is luck that no one stole them, many of our classmates may not have the note taking finesse you possess. I know that my doodles can distract me from a lesson..." Meghan trailed off, scrambling for a way to make Alexander leave so she could return to her quest. Would it be suspicious if she made him go off before her? As Meghan stood there deep in thought, not paying attention to Alexander reply in the least ,an idea sprung. How to carry it out though..?

Alexander smiled at the girls attempt to divert the conversation.

"I'm glad you found them. It is luck that no one stole them, many of our classmates may not have the note taking finesse you possess. I know that my doodles can distract me from a lesson..."

"Yes, it's lucky" he smiled and chuckled at Meghan's comment about doodling, than wondered what she would do if he proposed to go down to breakfast together.

"Well, no point of standing around here." he said, wanting to smirk but controlling himself. "Would you like to come down to breakfast together?" he said eyeing the tapestry of Barnabas the Barmy.

Gazing at the tapestry Alexander's eyes seemed fixated on, Meghan wondered if he had an avid curiosity in tapestries or there was something special about this specific one. That however, could wait, whereas getting rid of Alexander could not. The girls would be here any moment and that would do nothing to extract any reason for suspicion. Sure the girls often were seen together during the day, but meeting here would be rather odd.

"Alexander, I am most obliged at your offer. I must insist however, that you go on before me. I forgot..." Meghan stammered for something to say, "I forgot what I forgot! A visit to the Gryffindor commons will surely remind me, you go right on ahead." Meghan ended with a shaky laugh.

Not her best lie, but hopefully it would be acceptable, then again Alexander was always too curious for his own good in Meghan's opinion. His curiosity had caused the rift between him and Adelaine, had it not? As that thought filtered through Meghan's muddled mind, she heard the light patter of steps. A flash of relief was soon chased by one of worry. When had school become so confusing outside of Charms?

"Hello!" Meghan greeted, unsure how to take their presence at the moment.

Adelaine hastily skipped up the last few steps and into the dimly lit passage, stopping quickly in her tracks as she saw that Meghan was not alone. Alexander Sowerby was there. But why? No one ever came here; it wasn't exactly on the way to any of the classrooms. Now wasn't the time for wondering, though. She could see that Meghan was running short on excuses and needed help.

"Hello, you two," she smiled nervously, stepping into the corridor. "Alexander, fancy meeting you here."

There was no way she could get them out of this. It was too random of a place for the three girls and Alexander to just happen to run into each other. Lisette was late, of course. Perhaps it wouldn't be so bad to let Sowerby in on their little secret.. He could be of some use, and he was trustworthy enough.

"Enjoying that painting?" she asked the boy cautiously, walking over to the tapestry he stood staring at.

Alexander watched Meghan out of the corner of his eye, waiting for her to think of a brilliant excuse to somehow shoo him away and yet the only one she could think of was, a bit, feeble. "Alexander, I am most obliged at your offer. I must insist however, that you go on before me. I forgot..." Alexander cocked his eye brow and scratched his head. The girl seemed to be unsure of how to get out of the ditch she had dug for herself. "I forgot what I forgot! A visit to the Gryffindor commons will surely remind me, you go right on ahead."

Just than a distraction came in the form of Adelaine Beaumont. "Hello, you two," she greeted them, Meghan replied and Alexander returned her smile. "Alexander, fancy meeting you here."

"Enjoying that painting?" Alexander smirked at the girl, he knew that she was trying to gauge him for an answer but he wasn't about to let in on the charade.

"Well you know, tapestries at Hogwarts have a way of," he looked around and dropped his voice "hiding interesting things"

Late again. Aaargh! Words could not express her frustration and disappointment in herself. Why couldn't she, Lisette Heartstone Slytherin extraordinaire, even be on time for a dangerous forbidden quest? Quests and danger was what being a Slytherin was all about. If she couldn't even cope with that, well...

She huffed and puffed up the last flight of stairs, ready for an excuse. "I'm sorry I was late, I was-" She cut herself off upon seeing the strange Slytherin boy whom she didn't quite know what to make of: Alexander. Lisette cursed herself. What if he knew? What if he knew? Would he try and follow them on their exploits? Better yet - would they accept him as a new teammate?

"Hello, how is everybody?" She smiled uneasily, wondering what would happen yet.
