Conflict and hardship: Daniella feels very unappreciated and overlooked by her family. She’s only a girl and she isn’t the cute baby. She also sometimes feels a bit socially constrained, she doesn’t like to sit still and be quiet, she’d rather be out riding or running around. Otherwise she's never really wanted anything and real hardship is lacking from her life.

Overall personality:
Firstly, Daniella is very arrogant. She has been spoiled rotten since birth and taught that she’s better than just about everyone, Muggles, Muggle-borns, Half-bloods, even some Pureblood families. She believes it and she doesn’t make an effort to be nice to people, unless they’re in authority and she wants to get on their good side. Daniella can be a huge suck up if it suits her purposes, for an eleven year old she’s quite devious and she usually does have a purpose. She won’t hesitate to use people if it will help her and she doesn’t really mind framing them for something she’s done if she doesn't want to get caught. She lies as easily as she tells the truth. She’s quite intelligent and uses that and her charm paired with an almost cute face to get her way whenever she can.
Although she’s intelligent, Dani hates school, really, anything where she has to sit still for long periods of time. She’s reckless, a daredevil, and she does some stupid things just because she can. Living out in the country she’s accustomed to running off and playing in the woods, catching bugs, climbing trees, swimming in the creek, all things quite unsuitable for a young lady; the more dangerous, the greater the thrill, the more the fun in Dani’s opinion. She will do absolutely anything once and if you dare her, she’ll do anything she never backs down from a challenge no matter how stupid or dangerous it might be.
She’s always trying to get her parents to notice her which might account for some of her rebelliousness. When her father wanted her brother to learn Spanish, Daniella was the one to master the language. When he tried to teach her brother magic, Dani was the one to learn some simple charms. As was tradition in her mother’s family, as oldest girl she inherited her grandmother’s wand when she died, which was when Dani was eight, although she didn’t have much use for it then.
Daniella is capable of being nice without getting something out of it as shows with her younger sister, Selena, whom she adores, and her cousin Katherine. Normally though, if Dani is being nice, she’s after something. If you manage to become her friend, she’s unflinchingly loyal. If you aren’t, she can be quite ruthless, blunt, and willing to blurt out cruel truths, or lies. She has a soft spot for young children and animals, because they don’t judge or expect anything but to be taken care of.
She's stubborn and doesn't like to show her true feelings, she prefers to act tough and as if nothing bothers her. While she doesn't care what most people think of her she is secretly upset her parents don't care about her. She tries not to let it show although she is jealous of people with parents who do care. Part of her bad attitude stems from that, she really wants attention, negative or positive.
Diary Entry:
August 5th,
Today I received my Hogwarts letter and decided it was the perfect time to start a diary. I shall keep track of everything that happens, especially while I’m in boring classes. That way I’ll be able to look back on everything I did in school, because I’m sure I’ll do great things and someday I can give it to Selena so she knows what to expect. Better yet, I shall give it to any children I have, if I have any, I’m not so certain I want to at all, it seems like a horribly messy, painful business, I remember when Selena was born more clearly than I would like, and you might end up with an Alejandro which really isn’t work the risk.
But back on topic, this is the diary of Daniella Maria Victoria Cruz, the rose of the Cruz family. Father may be disinherited but I bear the Cruz name and Maria, the traditional middle name for all Cruz girls. I think he hopes to get back in their good graces but as all letters come home unread I doubt it.
I have no desire to go to Spain. Father wanted Alejandro to go to school there, but he didn’t speak Spanish. He did not offer it for me, the school he went to was private, very expensive, not like Hogwarts which is free as long as you’re a witch. I suppose only his son was good enough to go to Spain, but that’s fine. I will excel, do better than Alejandro and prove that I am the one he should be proud of.

The Appearance
First Impression: It very much depends on Dani’s mood at the moment. She can appear very prim and proper, perfect for a girl of her status and upbringing or she can look like a little hellion.
On Second thought..: Yeah, it’s true. Dani’s a little arrogant snot. First impressions are true sometimes.
Overall Appearance:
Daniella has a slightly dark complexion, the color of coffee with cream. Her hair is straight and dark brown. It hangs about three inches below her shoulders and when she's out in the sun for too long, blondish highlights come out in it. Her eyes are chocolaty brown and framed with thick dark eyelashes. Average sized for an eleven year old she’s pretty and she knows it. She likes to wear bright clothes, especially Muggle clothes, and her ears are pierced.

Reputation: The Cruz family has a less than crystal clear reputation. They have been known for messing with the Dark Arts and there have been a few family members who have gotten in trouble for Muggle hunting.
Secrets: A half sister by their father. Her mother is entirely inappropriate, a Muggle-born witch. Otherwise they have Dark objects that might get Juan in a bit of trouble if they were found out about…
General:
Daniella’s family is pure on both sides as far back as they care to trace. Her father’s family, the Cruzs are a very influential Spanish Pureblood family and her mother’s families, the Blackthornes are a very old, very rich, English pureblood family. Juan was heir to the main branch of the family and engaged to a Spanish girl when he met Rachel Blackthorne on his tour of Europe. They fell in love and eloped, to his father’s chagrin. His younger brother married Juan’s intended and became heir instead. Lucky for Juan, Rachel’s family was obscenely rich and as Rachel had been a bit of a rebel they were happy she had managed to marry someone who was almost as pure as them.
Growing up, Alejandro was the doted upon precious boy, Selena was the sweet baby, and oh yeah, Daniella, the middle child. She received the least attention and was mostly left to her own devices under nannies and her house elf.
Daniella was named for her paternal grandmother. Her father hoped it would get him back in his parents’ good graces. It hasn't worked so far.

Specific Questions for Purebloods:
Are there any magical items in your house, how about a house elf? There are many various magical items in the house to make life easier, for example brooms and various knick-knacks as well as her father’s collection of objects that use Dark Magic. They have several house elves, including Dani’s personal elf, Kiely.
How strict were your parents in enforcing no underage magic? Not particularly, they’re proud to be wizards and encouraged Dani and her siblings to use magic although of course they had limited use of real spells. It would have been shameful for any of them to be Squibs.
Are there any spells which are used a lot by your parents? Not particularly, they have house elves to do menial work, her father was a fan of Silencio though.
Has you character always known they were magical or did they worry they were a squib? Daniella was worried about being a Squib when she was very young, it would have been shameful and she didn’t want to let down the family. Her magic first appeared when she was five and she was very relieved, even if she pretended not to be.
Does your character have any strong feelings (good or bad) about magic or is it just part of their life?
She feels rather entitled to magic and thinks it makes her better than people without. She looks down on Muggles, a prejudice she learned by listening to and observing her parents (after all, an eleven year old isn’t likely to come up with that on her own) and has been taught that she’s better than them and anyone with Muggle blood.
Student Skills:
School Ethic: Daniella was tutored at home by different witches and wizards after she outgrew her nannies. She hates school and doesn’t work at it unless she feels like it.
Teacher Relation: Likely she would act sweet towards the professors as they are in authority and she wants to be in their good graces, unless they annoyed her. Then all bets are off.
Work Ethic and Diligence: She might occasionally work hard in subjects she was interested in, otherwise she would work hard enough to slide by, unless there was something in it for her to do better. She’s careless with most of her possessions, mostly because for Dani, there has always been more.
Subjects: She would like Herbology, Charms, Care of Magical Creatures, anything active, but dislike History of Magic, Potions, and anything that involved sitting still and being quiet.
Where don't you want to be: Hufflepuff, Gryffindors might be annoying but Hufflepuffs are, in Dani’s opinion, stupid. It would also be pretty ultimate shame to the family to have someone in shiver, Hufflepuff. She doesn’t want Ravenclaw either because she doesn’t like school, but at least that would be okay with her family.
