Alexander sat in his usual spot in the library, a number of reference books placed around him as he scribbled a number of interesting facts on a separate piece of parchment that he'd use on his Defence Against the Dark Arts homework, the Homework which Professor Penvellyn had set was a six inch essay on the use of the Full Body Bind Curse she had set them that day. He was now on his tenth inch but he felt that if he wrote a slightly longer essay than perhaps it would take his mind off what had irritated him the rest of the day.
His nose was now fixed although he still a felt a deep pang of shame at the thought that his nose had broken in class.
Just as he was about to transfer a quote on the extreme uses of the curse, a noise behind him made him jerk his neck to look at who was standing there. He felt a crick in his neck as he jerked his head a bit too quickly. Turning around he got quite startled as the person who had made the noise behind him was now standing over the desk looking at his notes.

"Doing zat rideeculous essay, I see?" Emmanuelle asked a slightly startled Alexander.
Emmy walked around the wooden table and sat down across from the boy, spreading her parchment, notes, and Defense Against the Dark Arts book before her. Was it rude to sit, uninvited, with a young man one has so many problems with? Surely not...right?
"Er, I 'ope you do not mind me sitting weeth you?" she asked hurriedly just in case. "Per'aps eet eez good to do ze essay in ze same vacinity as a classmate?"
Realizing she probably made no sense whatsoever, she dug around in her bag for an inkwell and quill. Mon dieu, she thought, her irritation reaching its peak. She had left her inkwell in the common room. With an overly polite smile, she cleared her throat and looked up at Alexander.
"Might I use your ink?" she asked, hoping he wouldn't refuse.
If she didn't get this essay in, she'd be shipped back to France..at least, that's what her parents kept telling her. Suddenly, Em saw blue linings in the corner of her eye -- Adele? She glanced quickly to the side, but was disappointed when she saw none other than the increasingly apprehensive Ravenclaw twin approaching their table.

Elisabet had been in the library looking for her sister Zella when she heard the scorning tone of Emmanuelle ask someone a question. Letting her Ravenclaw curiosity get the best of her, she started heading towards the sound of voices and noticed Emmanuelle sitting by Alex, and it looked like they were doing homework together. Elisabet spotted Emmanuelle glancing at her as she approached
"Hello, Alex!"she said brightly. "Emmanuelle"Elisabet said, not quite as bright as she gave the Slytherin girl a small nod of acknowledgement.
"Mind if I join you? I was just looking around to try and find Z, you haven't noticed her anywhere have you? she asked them both.
Elisabet finally noticed that they were working on their DADA essay the professor had assigned them.
"Oh, do you need any help? I have mine done already, I hope Professor Penvellyn doesn't mind that mine is so long. I just couldn't help myself. Elisabet asked rather excitedly

Alexander slowly turned around just in time to hear Emmanuelle speak. "Doing zat rideeculous essay, I see?"
"Well, just adding a few more facts to make my essay stronger." he said shrugging his shoulders as he put his quill in the ink well that was in front of him. Before he could ask the girl to sit down however, she took a sit opposite of him and took out her parchment, quill and notes.
"Er, I 'ope you do not mind me sitting weeth you?" the girl said. "I don't have a problem with that," Alexander said as he took out a bottle of ink thinking he ought to fill up his ink well. "Per'aps eet eez good to do ze essay in ze same vacinity as a classmate?"
"I know what you mean, you feel like you stay focused because other people are focused on the task as well." Alexander said as he added shrugging his shoulders. "Well, at least I do"
The girl seemed to be only half listening though, as she searched her bag on the borderline of frantic exasperation. She seemed to not be able to locate whatever she was looking for because a moment later she cleared her throat and asked.
"Might I use your ink?"
Alexander smiled at the girl and nodded. "Of course, help yourself but I do need to fill it up", he stood up with the ink bottle he had in his hand and poured the contents into his ink well.
Another voice greeted him just than, the voice of Elisabet. "Hello, Alex!" she said brightly. Alexander smiled at her "Hello Betta" he could feel her tense up and the tension in the air become suddenly heavy. "Emmanuelle" the girl curtly greeted the Slytherin.
"Mind if I join you? I was just looking around to try and find Z, you haven't noticed her anywhere have you?" the girl asked steadying herself to sit down at the table. "Of course not, you're welcome to join us. As for Zella, I haven't." he said pursing his lips trying to remember when he saw the girls sister last.
"Oh, do you need any help? I have mine done already, I hope Professor Penvellyn doesn't mind that mine is so long. I just couldn't help myself." excitement could be noted through her voice. Alexander was done but he didn't like seeming ungrateful.
"Well, if you'd like you can proofread whatever I've written." he said pushing his ten inch essay rolled in a neat little roll towards her.

"I'm so glad I can help!" Betta said to Alex. Elisabet enjoyed shoolwork and enjoyed helping her friends, so doing both was exhilarating. Noticing that Emmanuelle didn't have much of the essay done, feeling a tiny bit sympathetic, she asked her,"Are you sure you don't need any help, I mean, I have free time and you seem to be running out of it."
Relaxing back into the couch Betta started reading through Alex' essay to see if she could spot anything.I really doubt I will, Betta thought to herself With what I know from Alex about his parents he'll do the best he can to impress them so they'll pay attention to him, even for a second

Alexander sunk into his chair, closing his eyes and thinking longingly of his bed in his dormitory. He stifled a yawn with the back of his hand as he did so and felt a warmth spread through him. It felt immensely joyful to have his eyes closed, they did feel very heavy at the moment.
"Alex? Alexander..."
He wasn't sure of how long he had his eyes closed because he suddenly opened them with a jerk, and felt a bit dazed by having closed his eyes for a moment.
He blinked back the sleep that he felt was trying to take over. "Did you say something?" he looked inquiringly at Elisabet.

"I did indeed, sleepy head" Betta said with a smile, "I finished reading your essay, it looks great. I didn't spot anything that needed to be added or taken off." Betta said as she handed back the essay.
"How about a walk to wake up? Maybe get a snack or something? she inquired

"I did indeed, sleepy head" Elisabet said as she smiled, Alexander returned it and straightened up in his chair trying to make himself uncomfortable so he wouldn't fall asleep again. "I finished reading your essay, it looks great. I didn't spot anything that needed to be added or taken off.".
Elisabet returned his essay which he proceeded to roll up and put in a small wooden tube he kept his essays in (so they wouldn't get crumpled).
"How about a walk to wake up? Maybe get a snack or something? as ducked down to close his bag, he stifled a yawn and he felt tears rolling out of his eyes. Returning back up, wiping the tears off his face he said. "I think that'll be a brilliant idea. I need to wake up."
