In need of a hideout.

She came across an old painting of a mad man trying to teach a few trolls to do ballet. Who in their right mind would attempt such a thing? Looking closer, she read the name: Barnabas the Barmy. Adele let out a loud gasp, clapping her hand over her mouth in case someone had heard. This was it, this was the painting the boy had told her to look out for!
“Just find a painting of a batty old man named Barnabas,” he said. Adele couldn't believe her luck; this might be an easier feat than they had expected. Suddenly, she heard footsteps racing up the stairs. She flattened herself against the wall in case it was a teacher, but stepped into plain sight when she saw the familiar face.
“What on earth took you so long?” she wondered aloud.

Hurrying across the floor Meghan went to the nearest floor and revealed the package she had been hiding beneath her cloak. Dungbombs. They were a nasty little invention made by Alberic Grunnion, but they worked wonders. In this case they'd be the perfect distraction.Leaning in to open the door Meghan took out the dungbombs and threw them in to the classroom. Boom.
Racing down the hall Meghan dared not look back as she headed towards their hideout taking an odd way as to lose anyone whom might be following her yet getting there quickly. Startled by Adelaine's sudden appearance from behind a statue Meghan replied, "Sorry I had trouble making sure no one would trail me here. We wouldn't want any unexpected guests, now would we? When is Lisette getting here? It feels like I haven't seen her in ages!"

The words echoed in her mind as Lisette trumpeted around the castle, hastily gulping down the last of her bread roll. She didn't bother lookig at the clock - she was probably late anyway. She'd lost track of time and now she was paying the consequences...
As she raced and darted through the hallways (unfortunately colliding with a tall sixth-year in the process), Lisette chose to try and go through the plan. Okay, so Meghan would throw Dungbombs into a classroom, the teachers would fuss around, they'd enter the Room of Requirement in need of a hiding place...or something. She couldn't think straight. Her memory was fuzzy. Law-abiding Lisette was too concerned over this sneaky operation the three brave girls were planning.
In the distance there was a loud explosion. Ooh. Lisette pinched her nose and rushed through, slowing down when she saw her two friends. She caught one word from the ever-chatty Meghan:"....Lisette...." and grinned.
"Hello," she whispered.

"Alright," she whispered, deathly afraid they'd be overheard. "Meghan, since you're the one most in need of the hiding place, YOU have to do it."
With that said, Adele walked over to the tapestry of the foolish wizard and the trolls. She beckoned them over and looked across at the blank stone wall. This was the moment they'd been waiting for. If they succeeded, they'd have (as the saying goes) 'the world at their fingertips'. If they failed, well...
"Here's what you've got to do," she turned to the Gryffindor, who looked rather famished. "You must walk past the wall three times, thinking of what you need. When it opens, we'll all rush in before it closes again."

Meghan followed Adelaine's instruction as began her first stride all whilst thinking, 'I need a place to hide.' She repeated this thrice and practically jumped when a door started to appear. Meghan stared for a moment in awe once again at the wonders of magic. Reminding herself once again they were in a hurry she twisted the doorknob.
Turning back to face her friends she said with a mischievous smile, "What are we waiting for? You aren't turning back now are you?" For a second an explainable fear settled on her, what if this was a ploy? What if they were just going to run and leave Meghan to blame. They were her friends they wouldn't do that... right?

"Meghan, you're fantastic!" she whisper-shouted, grinning at her friend.
Without waiting another second, she bounded forward through the open door and into the hidden room. It wasn't at all what she'd expected. Cluttered as it was, Adelaine couldn't believe her eyes. The ceilings had to be over 100 feet high, and piles of seemingly useless junk were stacked to the top. There were broken toys, split broomsticks, old books, ancient-looking jewels, rusted cages..messes everywhere!
"Of course," she breathed. "We've come to the room where everything is hidden."
Adele looked around what had looked like an old storage room only moments ago with new eyes. It was now an adventure waiting to happen.
"Think of the things we'll find!"

She was rather concerned when Meghan seemed unsure that her friends wouldn't abandon her, leaving her to face the teacher's wrath. Did she honestly think that? Though it was only meant as a joke, Lisette couldn't help but wonder...
In the midst of all her thoughts, she was completely shocked when a door opened up. Without another word she rushed in, and gasped.
"What on earth is all this?"

"Look at this! A book about Animagus, we aren't supposed to learn about this until third year at the earliest! I wonder what other treasures we will find! Is it okay for the items to leave this room, or should we keep them here in case?"

Waiting and waiting, Alexander stood there wondering how long it would take them to leave the corridor in front of the tapestry of Barnabas the Barmy.
A sudden noise of talk awoke him from a slight stupor, as the screech of chairs and tables meant that study hour was done and that students were now expected to return to their respective common rooms. Alexander feeling brave walked from behind the column and saw to his astonishment a swish of cloak disappear into the wall.
The effect of seeing someone disappear into solid wall awoke his senses, he shook his head and wondered if he had seen what he thought he saw. Slowly walking toward the wall, he saw that Adelaine, Lisette and Meghan were gone.
"Curious," he murmured to himself inspecting the wall with his hand.
Deciding that this wasn't the time to try and solve a mystery, he turned around and walked in the direction of the Grand Staircase starring back at the wall where the cloak had disappeared behind.

"We could all illegally become Animagi," she joked, bending down to pick up a ratty old spellbook. She wiped the dust off with the corner of her robes, but the title was actually scratched out with a quill. Wow, she thought, her interest in the contents of the book soaring higher.
"I hope no one saw us going in," she half-worried, sitting down and propping the book open on the ground in front of her.

"How in Merlin's beard could someone have saw us? Everyone raced to see the explosion. We covered our tracks! What I am more worried is about is how we can come back again. I do not want to touch dung-bombs ever again! Sick things..." Meghan trailed off as her attention was caught by something shiny sticking out of a pile of old chairs. Meghan dropped the book and went over to examine to find it was a rusty old tiara of sorts. Useless to her, she threw it over her shoulder to be lost somewhere in the clutter.
"I wonder how far the room goes on for, if we aren't careful we could get lost. " Plunking herself beside Adelaine and collecting the fallen book Meghan begun to read it. Why would someone have hidden a textbook? Perhaps there was something wrong with it?

In every direction she looked, there were piles and piles of different objects. It would take years just to sort through them all. She listened to the other girls' comments and giggled. Her friends were hilarious! Meghan was so excited about the Animagus book, but there were worries of being caught - and even getting lost. Lisette snuck a glance at just how far the room extended. The answer? Very far. She gulped.
"We'll need a map just to find our way around here," she joked, trying to make a joke of the whole wacky situation.

"That's a brilliant idea!" Adele exclaimed, a broad grin spreading across her face. "Of course, we'll need another distraction.."
Her mind immediately went to work, and she stood up, pacing between a broken chair and an old cabinet. There would be no chance of them getting away with something like the dungbombs again, it was risky enough this time. She had to think smaller..Of course!
"I've got it!" she shouted, startling a few birds into movement. "I'll leave this book! It was already here in the first place, but all we'll have to do next time is need to see it."
Getting a bit ahead of herself, Adelaine quickly snatched the book off the dirty floor and looked around the room. Spotting the old tiara Megan had so carelessly tossed behind her, she gently placed the old book underneath it and smiled. Getting into the room would be easier than ever now..unless this didn't work.
"Well, that's that," she said, more to herself than the others. "We'll meet here tomorrow then, to make the map?"
With that said, she gave them a quick wave and grin and pushed open the heavy wooden doors. Looking both ways to ensure that no one was there, she stepped out and made her way to Ravenclaw tower.

Sure, Adelaine was a great candidate as leader for their group, but Meghan felt overlooked as Adelaine just took charge. Now was not the moment to waste her time on bruised feelings, if she were to be awake tomorrow for their meeting it was best she went to bed. A grouchy Meghan, was something no one wanted to see.
"I guess that is that then. Didn't really have much choice in the matter, but I guess I will see you tomorrow morning. Night, Lisette." Meghan made her way out and glanced over her shoulder as the door disappeared. That was that, it was like it had never been there in the first place. Perhaps this was all a dream and Meghan would wake up and none of it would have happened.

She shook herself. No, she was being stupid, she chided. Thinking about silly thoughts in the middle of a room that she wasn't sure really existed in the middle of a magical school with teachers that would roast her on a spit if she was caught was not the way to go about doing things. With a friendly-enough goodbye at Adelaine (who probably didn't hear her) and one last quick scan of the whole strange room she waved farewell to Meghan then left, trying not to squeak at the sight of the door suddenly disappearing behind her. This whole thing seemed surreal and odd...
Oh well. She was going back tomorrow anyway, and then she could see whether the whole meeting had been worth it or not.
