Hello SpelledB,  Welcome to DMRP. You've made it to the Introduction forum where we're very happy to see you! Hi there! I'm Meghan and I role play Alistair Bauldaugh (a 3rd year Hufflepuff) and Professor Penvellyn (The Defense Against the Dark Arts and Transfiguration Professor). Welcome to DMRP! There are just a few things you need to know.

First off, would you like to tell us a little about yourself, maybe how you found the site and if you've ever done RP before? We only ask people to post here so we know they aren't spam bots (which you clearly aren't) but we also talk a lot out of character and we want to get to know you a little!

Second, you'll need to select your character's name (First and last, please). The point of this site is to role play your character all the way from year one through year seven. You'll go to classes and post all around Hogwarts in order to earn points for your house. But, we need a name for you as that's what everyone will call you as well as your screen name will change to that (no worries, your log in name and password will remain the same).

Third, your next step, if you haven't yet, is to look over the rules we have on the site. There aren't many, and they can be found in "The Rule Book" forum on the main page, near the top. Familiarize yourself with these, as it will make everyone's time on the site more enjoyable.

Next, you'll need to make a character card. This can only be done once you've been bumped up to an apprentice, which I'll go do right now. There is a premade card in the forum that you can find simply by hitting the "post" button. Do not go into the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year area. Your card will actually be moved to the waiting area until next school year (that should begin in late February). This is because we have enacted the Sorting Stop, meaning that because we are in the 2nd half of the school year, we aren't accepting any more students for this group of first years. Your character will be a first year for the 1796/1797 school year.

You'll be able to post in the country and outside of Hogwarts with others that are waiting until next year once your card has been approved.
