A horse pulling a carriage crossed Alexander's way as he walked through the town absent mindedly, wandering up and down the various streets. He didn't mind spending time by himself, his cousins were all much older and out of the house anyway. His aunt and uncle being quite busy although still making an effort to spend time with him.

Just as he crossed the other side of the road, he noticed someone who looked familiar walking down the street away from him. He did a bit of a double take, Upper Flagley was full of wizarding families; he hadn't however met anyone during the course of the Holiday Break other than in London. Slowly he walked behind the person, it was hard going as it was mid-day, people were in the streets walking. Gentlemen and ladies in carriages, while the poorer folk were forced to walk on their feet. Pedlars, beggars and buskers stood on sidewalks; all wanting your gold. Alexander had brought some muggle money which undoubtedly if he went into a store would be seen as a bit odd. No one paid him much attention, he had purposefully not worn his best clothes; but they still stood out on the shabby street.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, he had caught up with the person he had been tailing.

"Enjoying your time away from Hogwarts?" he said to their back.

Upper Flagley was far from where Lisette resided, but Meri and Kin were off at some silly social meeting again, and it couldn't be helped. With some galleons in a drawstring bag, they sent her off telling her she could roam wherever she pleased, but no further than the town boundaries (any less distance, and they could find her with an Accio). She sighed. Meri and Kin had become much less strict lately. While this enabled her to have many fun adventures, she couldn't help wishing for the overprotective grandparents she knew and loved to come back.

She had been wandering about for quite some time now, lazily glancing around with no real purpose. A beggar grabbed at her robes. "My family...hunger, starvation." Her grandparents had told her not to mind them, but the beggar told her of a sad, sad story of how his life turned upside-down and she'd given him some coins. As she slowly walked off, she realised she'd given her money to the wrong person - the man was actually a wealthy businessman who played as a beggar, she'd learnt from the whispers of passers by. The sneaky crook! Lisette hurried away with her nose in the air but she could not hide her blush.

"Enjoying your time away from Hogwarts?" The sudden voice would have startled her, but she kept her poise and swiveled around. It was Alexander, looking as calm and collected as ever. She flushed. Had he been following her? Did he know about the beggar?

Ignoring the countless questions popping up in her mind, she replied:"Hello, Alexander. And yes, I am,  thank you very much."

"Hello, Alexander. And yes, I am, thank you very much."

Alexander smiled at the girl, looking at the surroundings of where they had stopped. He noticed a woman and a child, both very dirty as if they had washed themselves in soot watching them, whispering to each other about them. Of course, Alexander could tell Lisette that these two were likely planning some sort of a clever heist to get their money but he refused on principle to frighten the girl. The smile on his lips and the calmness in his voice he spoke. "Would you like to get a warm drink at that little public house over there?" he said nodding toward a very narrow store front on the other side of the street.

"Might be good to get out of this damp weather," he finished. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed that the soot covered boy had disappeared. He gripped the wand that was in his jacket pocket and looked around trying not to create an unnecessary panic.

Lisette shivered and gratefully accepted Alexander's proposal. It was rather cold and the storefront looked so inviting, with warm wisps of smoke coming out the windows and the chatter of patrons as they sipped their beverages. "It would be wonderful," she said with genuine excitement. Hopefully they stocked Butterbeers - honestly, what self-respecting public house didn't? She didn't even notice the boy gripping his wand and looking around.

She felt, rather than saw, a movement behind her. Lisette froze -long enough for the thief to make a grab for her purse and start running off with it. Her first instinct was to scream and cry, but she realised that not only would she sound ridiculous, she didn't need to. Alexander was talented at spells wasn't he? Still, she quickly took out her wand and yelled "Stupefy!", not wanting to feel like the damsel in distress. Her voice echoed down the roads. Apparently she'd missed.

Alexander was caught completely by surprise as Lisette shot a stunner at something on the other side of the street.

"We need to make a run for it now..." they had done magic outside of school, in broad daylight, and against a muggle. This wasn't going to go well. "Come on, let's go." he said holding out his hand so the girl could grab it and they could run off in the opposite direction.

"The ministry will be here any moment.", he said before continuing his voice calm but filled with haste. "We don't want to be caught here with our wands out."

Oh Merlin. Lisette stood in shock as she just realised what she'd done. Doing magic at home had become so natural to her that she'd completely forgotten when not to use it. She was in big trouble now.

She remembered her grandparent's words: "If you use magic outside of school, the Ministry will catch you - it's against the rules!" To her it had seemed like some silly little rhyme at the time, but even at that young age she'd understood them. How could she have been so careless? How could she have suddenly forgotten everything and acted on instinct?

Wordlessly she took Alexander's outstretched hand and listened to his words. She felt like a fugitive on the run. She was such a fool.

[[Sorry if I godmod, but just tell me how to re-write it and I will]]

A shriek met their ears. "WITCH" the dirty child screamed out loud pointing toward Lisette.

Alexander looked at the girl and within moments they had run length of the building and turned quickly right. Alexander kept a good grip on Lisettes arm, it was a tight grip but it wasn't painful. As they ran, they took a left, Alexander looked over his shoulder and saw that the dirty muggle tramp was following them.

"Come on, come on." Alexander murmured more to himself than anyone as they ran the length of the alleyway they were in. Still clutching Lisettes hand they ran into a dead end. A wall, eight feet tall stood in their way to making a getaway. Quickly turning around, Alexander saw that the tramp boy seemed to have summoned three adults who looked furious and blood thirsty.

They were still a bit away but there was no way they could get out of this situation without using more magic.

"Alright, we need to get out of here. Better not use magic until the last possible moment." he looked at the girl, a calmness seemed to spread through him. "I'll boost you up onto the wall so you can get help."

Lisette's heart was pounding furiously. How could Alexander still be calm and composed as ever in times of dangerous situations - like this? It was a question she had absolutely no time to answer. For the muggle child was screaming at her and chasing the two down the alley. Alexander had grabbed hold of her arm and was pulling her frantically away. They twisted and turned - Lisette felt rather guilty for having dragged him into the mess but also pleased that they were evading them, but this joy soon stopped when she realised that an immensely tall wall blocked their way. She gulped.

Chancing a glance backward at her pursuers, she gulped again. The child had brought three adults along now, each looking vengeful and ruthless. There was no way out!

Luckily, clear-thinking Alex had a solution. He offered to boost her up.
"Yes, please," she whispered. "And hurry!"

[[I apologize for Godmodding, but it would be hard to do this otherwise]]

Alexander boosted the girl up so she could reach out the parapet, the two adults were reaching them faster. Suddenly and without the use of his wand, a door exploded open near them. As if a wind had suddenly started, a strong wind seemed to shoot out from the door, which caused a welcome distraction for Alexander and Lisette, as the two adults seemed to scared off getting through the wind which was now pushing the two against the wall as they tried their hardest to get through it.

"Come on ..." he said through gritted teeth.

Lisette felt immensely relieved when a hefty gust of wind shattered a door, frightening the muggle adults. They backed away - one bravely tried to fight the strange power, but snarled and retreated. Her relief was soon exchanged into desperate helplessness as she struggled to bypass this obstacle - the wall. Even Alexander seemed to be nervous, his teeth gnashing as the two young - yes, she admitted it, she was only thirteen and a young child (not the best conditions for running from potentially dangerous criminals) people hurried over.

The two Muggles attempted to shout at them, but the wind which was now howling from the door seemed to intensify as they did so. The wall seemed to be too high to scale, even with a boost and yet; yet the two angry muggles backed away. They look frightened and with a fleeting look at the two of them they scampered off back up the alley, taking the screaming muggle away.

As soon as they were no longer in the alley, the wind broke and ended.

Alexander helped lower Lisette down, "I reckon we ought to get out of here as soon as we can. They'll be back, I can almost be certain of that,"
