Alexander heard the voices of Luka and Cecile running down the corridor, Professor d'Ambray had not seemingly departed the astronomy tower. How this was possible, he wasn't sure, but now with the two running away Alexander took his chance to leave.
He ran out of the spot he was hiding from and pointing his wand at the door he half-shouted the spell quickly. "Colloportus!". The door made a soft click and Alexander knew that he'd have a few more seconds head start before the door would be opened by Professor d'Ambray's alohamora.
Running down the hall in the opposite direction of where he had heard whomever was going up the stairs, he reached a tapestry of a wizard named Humphrey Belcher who invented the infamous futile failure; a cheese cauldron. Whipping through the tapestry he reached a small staircase hidden behind it, which lead down to the fourth floor. Running down the stair case or perhaps slightly falling down the steps, he reached the fourth floor landing. Wiping his brow from the sweat, he knew that he was safe. There was no way that the Professor could tie him to the scene of the crime.

[[Luka: If you had made that comment in a PM rather than an OOC post, I could have updated my entry]]
Kenton wondered for a time if perhaps he had been a little too lenient on this pair, only deducting a number of points from them when they had clearly strayed in to an out-of-bounds area of the school. He had made his choice now though, the punishment had been given and one thing he rarely did was add extras on to the end once he had given his response - at least not for that specific offence. The Hufflepufff girl saw fit to give a cheeky response though, and that to him was a different matter. "That's another three points from you for your backchat, Miss Bloch" he informed her as she and Luka fled from the tower "and if I catch either of you up here again without good cause, I'll be handing out detentions." He may have been lenient this time, but he was always much firmer when it came to repeated actions.
Once he could see that the two of them had departed, he himself descended the stairs towards the doorway at the bottom, a little surprised to find that it had been locked. Surely these children didn't think a simple locking charm would hold him back; it must be a delaying tactic of some kind. He took out his wand and issued a simple 'alohamora' charm before passing through into the corridor. He then locked the door behind him once more with a more complicated spell that could not be countered quite so easily. Too many of the students were aware of 'Alohamora' and the Astronomy Tower was meant to be out-of-bounds after all.
He then found that he had a decision to make. Before him lay a collapsed suit of armour, and these things did not tend to fall of their own accord so it surely had help. There was also the question of who had shut him behind a locked door, and he could hear the sound of running footsteps fading into the distance. Should he pursue the runaways or stop to repair the statue? He decided on the latter, since he felt that even if he caught up with the escaping children, he could not be sure which of them had done the aforementioned deeds. He stayed a moment to attend to the fallen armour then set off at a firm walk down the corridor to continue his patrol.
