Dear Diary
I had the strangest dream last night. I dreamt that I was in a room full of hundreds and hundreds of owls. They were all staring at me, and I was staring at them. Everything was very still. Even though it was a dream I could tell the air was stale. Then suddenly the owls began exploding, like the bowl of soup last night. I'm beginning to suspect that I am the one making things explode. It has been becoming more and more frequent. I fear I may be possessed by evil spirits. I have been praying twice as hard this last week, but it seems to do no good, at least once a fortnight something in our house ends up destroyed. It only happens when I get very upset. Perhaps this daemon is a punishment for my sinful temper? I am afraid to speak to my father about this. How would it look if the minister's daughter were possessed? A demon in the very walls of the church. Perhaps I can look though his books tomorrow to find something to help cure me. For now, I must say my payers and then sleep.
Until tomorrow little book,
Yours, Alice.
The Appearance
First Impression: Modest, slightly out of fashion.
On Second thought..: Alice's first impressions are hardly wrong. She is slightly behind on fashionable clothes. All her clothes are second hand from the Lady of the estates daughter's, but she only keeps the pieces that are the most modest.
Overall Appearance: Alice is a very small girl, both short and thin. Her skin is pale, with a few freckles across her nose. She spent much time inside as a child, her skin has always burned easily. Her hair is cheery red in colour, and falls mostly straight and just past her shoulders. She usually braids it in a single braid or two tails. Her blue eyes are bright and happy most of the time. They are rimmed with very heavy black eyelashes. She has less than perfect teeth. Her brother broke one of her front teeth just after her adult tooth came all the way in, so one of her front teeth is shorter than the other. Alice has a birthmark on her forearm in a shape that she says resembles a dancing lady.

Siblings: She has two brothers, James Michael Saint Jr, and Edmon Peter Saint. James has never shown any signs of Magic, he is two years older than Alice. Edmon could go either way magically and is a year younger than Alice.
Other important figures:
The Lady of the Manor- Alice has never known her name for sure, but she owns the estate that her father's parish is on. She has three daughters all older than Alice who's clothes she gives to Alice.
Reputation: Their family has been a family of ministers as long as anyone can remember.
Secrets: One of her father's brothers murdered his wife and their children, the other brother was gay. No one talks about either one of them, Rev. James hardly mentions that he has brothers.

Specific Questions for Halfbloods:
Who in your family knows about the magical world? Her mother did, and now her father does.
What explanation is given to the muggles in your family about your long absences while you are at Hogwarts? Everyone else has been told that she has been sent to Scotland to an independent school to get an education.
How does your family combine muggle and magical elements, is your house obviously magical or do you keep stuff hidden? Magic is not permitted in the house. Her moth never used it. And neither will Alice. All of her magic things are securely hidden away.
Has you character always known they were magical or did they worry they were a squib? Alice had no idea that her mother was a Witch until she got her letter. Her magic had first shown it self as various objects in their household exploding when she got too angry. She thought she was being bothered by demons.
Does your character have any strong feelings (good or bad) about magic or is it just part of their life? Magic is bad. The bible tells Alice it is a sin. As she couldn't control it, she accepted the offer to go to Hogwarts to learn to control and eventually overcome her "illness."
Student Skills:
School Ethic: Alice believes that Hogwarts will help control her illness. She is very focused on her studies. She tries well enough to pass, but never more than her classes require. Before Hogwarts, Alice's father taught her to read and write from the bible.
Teacher Relation: She disagrees with most of the teachers fundamentally, but she feels she has to respect them because they are her elders. She respects them and follows their rules, but that doesn't mean she likes them.
Work Ethic and Diligence: Her handwriting is barely legible, but her parchment is always pristine otherwise. She takes good care of her things and the schools possessions. She doesn't always agree with what they say, but she knows these things are important to others. She should treat them they way she would want someone else to treat her things.
Subjects: Alice would be more prone to working in potions because of it's practical application and it's similarly to cooking. She would also be fond of history of Magic because it seems like an interesting subject that involves very little actual magic. She would have a severe distaste for flying because it is unnatural. She would very much dislike transfigurations because God made that bug a bug. If he'd wanted it to be a button he would have made it a button.
Where don't you want to be: Alice would not want to be a Gryffindor. Gryffindors are brave. Being smart and loyal and ambitious would be more important to Alice than being brave.
